My AC Moore is not that close to me so I don't get there that often. I went in the other day and the whole store was 40% off and I thought it may be going out of business or something. When I checked out, the girl said that they are now an "outlet" store and that they are no longer accepting any coupons as the store is always 40% off. Interesting. There were some great deals there!

I haven't been in awhile, but I will have to see if the same has happened to the ones in my area. However, I can't help wondering if this is the beginning of a going-out-of-business sale that they don't want to admit to. I hope not. They carry things that Michaels, JoAnn's, and Hobby Lobby do not.

My daughter works at acm and her store has not done this. As a matter of fact they are hiring new people. They just had a company come in and tell the store how to make it more appealing to the customer. So for the past two weeks, they redid the store and there is also all new product, bad for my wallet. I wish our michaels would do the same. It is always the same old, same old , and messy.

Ours is getting a face lift too. I wonder if they are feeling pressure because they are now going to be within 30 minutes of 2 Hobby Lobby's.

Hmm. I haven't been to AC Moore in a long time because the closest one is over 30 minutes away. Now I am curious. I'll have to go check it out sometime.

Some are outlets now, where others are regular. I stopped in one I didn't know was an outlet and loaded up on all kinds of stuff last month. Totally stocked up on adhesive!

I visited my AC Moore store this week. I was told that my store has become the outlet store for my state. Everything is 40% off and they have red & green clearance; no coupons; NO returns. Cashier told me that they have designated one store to be the 'outlet' store in each state. I am NOT happy it was my store. (I'm selfish that way! ) If you are going to make it an 'outlet' then reduce the prices. 40% off everyday doesn't do it for me. Considering their ad has 40% off in some category every week in the scrapbooking section, having 40% off 'everyday prices' doesn't make me want to rush in and shop; especially knowing that the stock probably won't turn around quickly. I can only guess they think we are pretty stupid consumers and hoping we think this is the best thing since sliced bread.

MY ACMoore LOOKS like an outlet store! Every time I go in there it looks more and more like a made-in-China dollar store.
And they very rarely have anything new. I usually don't even bother to visit.

We have no AC Moores, but do have a chain called Beverly's. When one relocated up the road, the old store became an "outlet or clearance" store until their lease in that building was up. Some times I found great deals, sometimes just a lot of junk. They shipped in clearance from all of their other stores all the time.

My ACM is an outlet store now, not sure how I feel about it? I bought a few items I knew I would need since no returns. Nice to not use a coupon but do hope they stick around.

We don't have one around here, but do in the state/city we're about to move to this week. I've only ever been into one, once, and it needed a face lift, but that was about 2 years ago. I'll be looking forward to checking it out!

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

I know that this is an older thread but I went to my ACM the other day thinking it was still regular and it looked like a picked over dollar store. Its now an outlet, and I won't be going back.

I finally managed to check two of the AC Moore stores in my area. One is an outlet store. They do not carry Cricut products since they have become an outlet store. The other store is not an outlet store and does carry the normal stock. I assume that includes Cricut, but I wasn't looking for Cricut items when I shopped there last.
The outlet store is fine if you are just looking for bargains and don't have a coupon. It is not so great if you are looking for specific or more expensive items that their other stores carry, but the outlet store may not.

The store closest to me has been an outlet store for a while. It was never a great store to begin with so I very rarely think to go there.

I have two in my area I will have to check out. I don't usually go there because they don't seem to get new product in.

Coming in late to the game on this one. I haven't been to ours in a while but heard from the moms at school today that they changed our local one to an outlet. After the holidays I will have to check it out. It is attached to our mall and I avoid that area during the holidays because parking is a pain and everything is so crowded. It makes me wonder too what their motivation is to do this with certain stores.
