Yes! don't we all?! Altho, I try not to sweat it anymore and some of it even goes into my finished albums. Sometimes with little sticky notes still attached. I thought pocket pages would help that, but sometimes it seems it makes it more complicated, more spaces to fill. I find lately I am just doing super simple 8.5x11. Trying to focus more on the photos and stories just to get it down. I find if I wait too long I either forget or just don't have as much passion about it. This would probably make a good blog topic. Or like a psychological study!
I probably wouldn't throw it out, but I don't really stick the photo down until the page is about finished, so I would probably just put the photo back in storage bin with other unused photos from that year/event. I'm really trying to get better about being picky and not scrapping everything or telling myself I have to!

yes, me!
I have an Iris box of 'un-journaled' layouts-- some of them are 10+ years old, so the journaling on them will be from a totally different point of view, if/when I actually do finish them, than what it would have read like if I had written on them when I 'should' have.
I also have a box with a few layouts in that I decided need help of some sort-- they look really flat, need embellishment, or something about them just looks unfinished. Those layouts got pulled out of my albums when I did a big album re-organization and are in a second box, waiting for their 'finishing touches' whenever I get around to it. I have completed a few of these, and I really like the way they turned out.
I also had a few barely-started projects that I knew I would never finish for various reasons-- I finally got rid of them altogether, to get rid of the guilt associated with having them hang around; it actually felt pretty good to do that.

if i don't finish something right away, it will never get finished. so, no, i really don't have many unfinished projects. i think there are maybe two projects that i don't know what to do with.

I have a whole bookcase full of unfinished albums I will get started for the year and then lose focus. I think I have crafting ADD. I seem to do better about completing the kids albums and vacation albums than keeping up with our family album. I hope to someday go back and finish them.

Yeah, um...just a few...plus several unfinished counted cross stitch projects and a granny square afghan. And we won't discuss my December "Daily." No, we're not gonna talk about that.
However, I'm taking the week of the 27th off and plan to craft myself into oblivion! I've made a list!

Yes, and I have these pages stacked in various locations so I don't have to see them all at once. Some need just a little work and it's pretty lame I just can't find the motivation to finish them.

I have I think 3 mini albums sitting waiting to be complete. I am bad at that, I need to sit down straight away and work on them after trips or they get half done!!

Yes. It's pathetic. I need to get it finished. About a year ago I finished a mini album I started in like 2007 or 2008 and just threw in a box. It was a K & Co collection. I think I just got sick of it and I ran out of ideas. The line is so out of style now but I still may try to sell it on Etsy or just give it away.

I finished a few of my unfinished layouts over the weekend!! yay, me!! Okay, only three or four, but hey, it's a start! And it was really pathetic to find out that a few of them only needed the journaling, or the dates the photos were taken. I write the date I made the layout on the back; one of them I put together the layout at the same exact retreat last year, and I finally finished the journaling at this year's retreat!

I have one that's been sitting on my table for more than 2 weeks. just completed the patchwork-looking background and then ran out of inspiration for how to continue.

I have few things finished. Not one school album done for my teens. The 6 year old has no personal album. The list goes on and on.

Let's just clarify that we're technically talking about specific layouts/projects that we've actually started to create... not the mountains of photos and memorabilia that equal the layouts/projects yet-to-be-started. Because that's a different thread altogether, and unless this forum comes with an oxygen mask and a sedative, I DON'T want to talk about that. LOL I do have unfinished layouts, but I actually got a handle on them a year or so ago... I went through all of my stuff, and looks through my albums, and made a UFO list with every single thing I wanted to add/fix/change. I only ended up with about 15 layouts that needed something, from "re-glue that letter" to "tear it down and start over." I'm over half way through it. I admit that I don't plug away at the list very often-more so in waves, but I'm comforted just by having the list written down. I feel like I know that there's nothing I'm forgetting. That's a rare and lovely feeling. LOL

the next unfinished 'project' I want to tackle is the group of layouts I made of a trip we took from Illinois to AZ back in 2004, right before we moved here (to AZ). The pages have the photos and embellishments on (what few embellishments I used back then, lol!) but not. one. word. of journaling on any of them!!
Those will take a bit of creative writing, to figure out how to phrase the journaling now that we've moved here, and now that so much time has passed...

Well I feel significantly less guilty about the size of my pile of unfinished layouts thanks to everyone's encouraging confessions. I actually pulled out some of the layouts and have managed to complete four of them. They are not exactly prize winners but that's why they ended up in the pile to begin with but I'm happy with how they've turned out and I'll be even happier to see them in my albums.
