Adults only or kids too? Ages of the kids? Where are you staying and will you have a car? We were just there in February. Wish I was going again in 5 days!

Pearl Harbor is a must....at the same location there is a submarine memorial that I could have spent hours at reading. Luckily they had a memorial book that told the story of each sub and the names of those on it. We only spent par tof a day on Oahu though, so we didn't do anything else. But that visit alone was worth the stop.

We were just there in May. I would recommend all of the Pearl Harbor historic sites, if you have not been there before.

Taking two kids. Flying out alone with them to meet Dh and his ship. Staying at Turtle Bay so I can get my shrimp truck on. We will be there a week. On the agenda is a luau at Hale Koa. I am also planning to rent paddle boards and kayaks often. Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay with the other tourists. Hiking Diamond Head with the mass of tourists. Maybe a beach cruiser day. I've been twice but the kids haven't. I'm looking for low key and not too overwhelming since they have sensory issues and I hate being that mom with those kids freaking out over everything.

I'm jealous, but I'd be diving. I don't know how to dive I always thought I'd learn one day but probably can't with the kids there. Plus my ears are a big issue right now and I heard that will keep you from diving.

KCC Farmer's Market on Saturday's morning is a must. Maybe you can plan your Diamond Head hike on the same day.

Curious why you aren't staying at the Hale Koa?
DH is DOD and we always stay there. Can't beat $118.00 a night & I think it's a great hotel.
Let me know if we need to be looking elsewhere!

How fun! DH and I went there for our anniversary 5 years ago...I'd love to go back! It sounds like you have all of the things I would suggest on your agenda already, so I'm no help there. Hope you have a great time!

I went to Oahu waaaaaaaaaay back in 1989 at the age of 21 with a couple of girlfriends. Suggestions of things to do: drink lots of alcohol, smoke lots of cigarettes, watch lots of cable TV (back then we didn't have that in Australia, so it was such a novelty!!), sunbake all day, party all night....
Oh, wait. I'm thinking you're not a single 21yo girl, so those suggestions are probably not what you are looking for!
Enjoy your trip, I would go back in a heartbeat.

You will love it. I wish I was going as two of my grandchildren live there. Manoa Falls is a beautiful hike and not too hard.

Mary K We stayed at the Hale Koa last time I went with dh and it was nice. This year he's out on Rimpac and there are 25,000 people from 23 nations participating which is probably why all the rooms were booked well in advance plus, last time the Hilton housekeepers were striking and they were out with bullhorn chanting and honking all night. 3 am had horns honking outside. Not the fault of the Hale Koa but it left me wanting something outside of waikiki. It's all good. We are getting a 2 br 2 be condo for $165 a night - we will have a kitchen which will help the food bill. Especially since I'm supposed to be on a low salt diet. We always wanted to try Turtle Bay and after comparing rooms in the resort to rooms in the condo it just made sense. I want to be out enjoying the island as much as possible

Fun pinterest board.
*Wailua Bakery - love their baked goods. Have not tried their sandwiches.
*Pirate Ship - I have heard this is good for kids. Have not been on it myself, but see it out in the water on a daily basis from the office. Never see the sails up because this boat is obviously motorized.
*Mokulua Islands - love to kayak here.
*Hale Koa Luau - have been to this a couple times, it the least expensive luau and close by us, since we are only 1.5 miles mauka of Waikiki.
