Do you have a preferred brand of soy sauce that you use in your kitchen? Why do you like it?
I recently discovered our store brand (Wegmans) is much better than Kikkomen. It is much less salty, but I wonder if there are others out there that are more authentic.

I got to where I just couldn't handle soy sauce so I started using liquid aminos. It's still salty enough to satisfy my craving for salt but not overly salty. Following to see if anyone has any soy sauce recommendations .

I like the Kikkomans low sodium. I am not a soy sauce connoisseur though.

My mom is Taiwanese. She has always used Kikkoman (and is an amazing cook). We went to the Kikkoman factory in Taiwan. I use the low sodium version.

We like Aloha soy sauce which you can get in Hawaii and at some military commissaries. I don't know if you can get it other places but it is our favorite.

I find the low sodium kikkoman isn't salty enough, and the regular is too salty so i do a mix of the two til i get it how i want it.

I swtiched to low sodium Kikkoman a few years ago and then to liquid aminos last year. I also like to use Thai fish sauce or oyster sauce more than soy sauce for flavoring Asian dishes.

as an Asian, I do a lot of Asian cooking. I prefer the super dark soy sauce my mom used from the non-Kikkoman Asian brands. you might find some in the grocery store but you get more of a variety from asian markets. i like it because it adds a deeper flavor, more bull bodied taste and texture to the food. the Kikkoman is too watery tasting, even the full strength one. because the brands I like are more concentrated, they tend to be more salty. so, I don't use much and I don't add any other salt or salty ingredients. it makes all the difference in the world for my recipes.
