So, I surveyed my customers to see what types of classes they'd like to see in the fall again, and a lot of them said Pinterest inspired stuff. I thought I'd go to this group and see if you have any crafty/home decor things you could make with papercraft supplies?? Here are a few things I've found so far to make: distressed frame with chicken wire and small clothespins for photos Painted canvas/mixed media piece wreath with burlap/felt flowers a small pallet hanging with a vinyl saying So ladies...show me some pinterest boards you've pinned I need a few more ideas! Right now, my pinterest boards are almost exclusively recipes, cards and scrapbook layouts LOL THANKS in advance!

Those are great ideas! I used to teach at an LSS before we moved and I taught a bunch of this type of thing. One hint I have is to hit up a dollar store and see if they have frames with multiple openings. One with space for four photos? Fill each slot with a letter to spell HOME or LOVE. Embellished and using lots of fun scrappy supplies and techniques, of course Plus their frames are so reasonable! Walmart also carries a line of frames that are super inexpensive. They're usually not in the frame area, but on an end cap in the home area. I think I bought 4 opening frames there for a few dollars each. Wreaths were HUGE hits. I did one where I taught them how to make a few different paper flowers and then they covered a small styrofoam wreath with them. You can center these around holidays vs. just a general everyday thing. The holiday stuff tended to sell out bc people were not as concerned about the finished look clashing with their decorating style. Banners for the holidays or a birthday one were big hits as well. I also loved to alter a frame and spray the inside wood piece with chalk paint. Instant chalkboard! I taught this class several times and used kitchen-y papers and the words "eat" or "menu" on it. A general "notes" one did well too. Can you tell I miss teaching at LSS? Waa I'm not sure if I have a Pinterest board that fits what you're looking for, but I'll check.

What about sticking with a holiday theme and planning the project related to next upcoming holiday (Halloween)?

Ok, I have a few boards that might interest you. Specifically, my Crafty Things board and also my Holiday Decor board. I keep trying to link to those directly and my ipad doesn't like me doing that. So here's my Pinterest Boards. My Scrappy Things mostly has layout ideas, but there might be some paper crafted things on there as well.

There are some amazing Advent Calendars on Pintrest (just do a search) that I would take a class to make in a heartbeat. Altered calendars or day planners would be really fun as a New Year's Project. Gift packaging, like homemade cookie or cupcake holders. (here's an example of an Easter one: ) Recipe boxes. Here's a cute one:

Oh yeah! A girl at LSS taught a Countdown to Christmas calendar class that was super popular. She taught it several times, with a sell out each time! She used cookie sheets from the dollar store.

We have had a lot of success doing projects with mason jars. Yes, we are southern women! We do things like filling with treats, dry mixes, coco stuff or just pretty objects then decorate the lid and make tags to show case an stamp technique or embossing technique.

Adornit has wood shapes and project kits that can be covered with scrapbook paper and embellished. I don't know if they still do it, but a few years back I had them cut some custom wood shapes for me. I designed the pieces with my cutter and emailed the designs to them to cut out of wood. Once I had the wood pieces, I cut the paper pieces to glue on with the matching cutting files and they fit together perfectly. You could do a lot of fun seasonal stuff like that.

Lisa, we had talked about the same thing! Seems like you couldn't go wrong with anything connected to Pinterest. I know I spend way too much time there! Hope your classes go well -- looks like a collection of really good ideas.

I think it's about a 10 hour drive? LOL I'd love to see it. We stock your sketches books at the store and they're awesome!

That's so great to hear about the sketch books! (We're working on a new Christmas sketch book and a Christmas card and tag sketch book for this fall, by the way.)
It's good to know there are still stores that are going strong. Sounds like yours is one of them! Stop by any time...I'll do the same if I ever head your way!

I always find neat ideas when I just click into the DIY category on Pinterest. I haven't pinned very many, but what I do have is on my Handmade Gift Ideas board.
