My air popper was the best purchase I have made in the past year. White popcorn with olive oil spray, salt and a sprinkle of grated cheese. Mmmmmm. This is almost how I make mine. I just use Parmesan instead of grated cheese. I'm going to have to try some grated cheddar. Great idea. I had purchased the air popper for the office when I was working. The stink in that kitchen from the burned popcorn in the microwave was overpowering. I thought the air popper would be a great addition. It really was too! We had people bringing in popcorn kernels to share and lots of different types of toppings from Parmesan cheese to cinnamon sugar. Alas, when I stopped working, one of my coworker friends brought it to me. Good for me, bad for them. And he told me that people were pissed at him for removing it from the kitchen. Is there a sprinkle powder butter that is not full of chemicals that I could buy? I like the flavor of buttered popcorn, but not the greasy fingers. That's why I've been using the Parm on it.

I make my popcorn on the stove in a pot with coconut oil but sometimes I get mixed results. I was wondering if I should switch something I can put in the microwave but will it taste the same without the oil? I only flavor with truffle salt and fresh shredded cheese.

I suggest getting an air popper. They're only like 20 bucks and get almost every kernel popped.

So there's no good popcorn brand sold at a regular grocery store? Do you mean kernels? I don't know if there is really much difference honestly. Although the best I've ever had was some kind of organic white corn. I wish I could remember the brand. I'm usually not a snob about organic stuff, but this was yummy. I bought the stuff from Amazon because I wanted to buy bulk and I am disabled so I don't get out much.

So are you really, REALLY gonna look down on me, since I buy mine pre-popped? I am addicted to SmartFoods White Cheddar Popcorn. Seriously and embarrassingly addicted. Don't tell me how bad it is for me, because I refuse to look at the ingredients.

We make it on the stove in coconut oil, then drizzle with more coconut oil (if a little is good, a lot is better, right?), and sprinkle with salt. Not exactly healthy though.

It's as easy as sticking a plain brown paper bag in the microwave. Duh me! I'd like to try garlic oil.
