I don't often get lucky at Tuesday Morning, but when they had packs of papers last Spring by some of my favorite companies, and right after the last LSS announced that it was closing, I hit every TM within driving distance, swapped with a friend on the other side of the country, and felt like I had hit the jackpot. I was in panic buying mode. I was pretty sure that the bounty of paper packs would dry up, and it did. I was very happy with my haul. I had lots of paper for scrapping and card making, and it was cheap so I could use it freely on any project that I wanted.
Now that we are expecting to move halfway across the country, I am pulling 4 to 6 sheets from each pack of paper, and setting the rest aside to share with family and scrapping buddies.
I am stunned at just how much paper I had from TM. No way do I want to move all that. In the end, it wasn't such a great deal, although I found papers that I never spotted at the LSS. After I give most of it away, I will probably have paid 35 to 50 cents per sheet. Not exactly a bargain, and I used a lot of gas in the process of going to the various TMs in my area (when gas was more expensive).
My scrapping buddies and my family ought to be happy with my castoffs, although one of my scrapping buddies is moving sooner than I am, and I think she will probably not take much of it (if any).
If there is any left over after my family and friends get through taking what they want, I will donate the rest to a charity group.
I knew it was a lot of paper, but it is absolutely staggering now that I see how tall the piles of paper for giving away actually are. Yup, that place is a blessing and a curse.

I've managed to stay away from those 25-packs of all the same papers .... but I can't say the same for their other amazing deals, LOL!

Yep - that's why I don't do paper pads or packs. I can't buy one more piece of paper. The drawer is full. I repeat the drawer is full. heehee

Since this past summer I have purchased about twelve feet (tall) in paper. Much of it from Tuesday Morning. It takes up two closets. This summer I will be making kits. I love the chance to buy 25 of a specific color, but I can see where it is silly for most people.

I know what you mean- I try to only buy 25-sheet packs that are double-sided, where I know I can use the B side (usually solid) for a lot of things. Unfortunately I get so excited when I see the paper pads there, but it's almost always patterns and colors that I don't like, even on sale, so I end up not buying the pads. Fortunately my mom and sister scrap, so I share with them.

I try to only buy collection packs/kits or 6x6 pads there. Even the regular 12x12 pads are just too much paper for me. I have to really really really love a line or be using it for a big project to buy a paper pad. Or if it's a basic like dots and stripes, that would be ok in a pad. And I love the 6x6 size bc I make cards too. I can whip through one pretty quickly. But yeah, 25 sheets of the same paper is a lot! I'm glad you're getting some purging done for your move

I normally just buy the paper pads. However I have bought a few of the 25 sheet ones but only those with basic designs on one side - like ledger paper or woodgrain or a basic stripe. With the paper pads, I like to use the extra sheets to make envelopes. I also give some of it away. I just try and use enough that I don't feel bad if I give iall the leftovers away - meaning use enough to get my money's worth. Also my TM is very close to my house so not very much out of my way.

I could seriously never use 25 sheets of the same paper. I usually won't even buy a full collection - I will pick and choose, and get one piece of each design. Now, I am a sucker for 6x6 pads. I always pick those up!

I like to make mini books and I sometimes need 3-4 of the same 12x12 sheet. At $0.99 to $1.20 per sheet, the 25 pack pays for itself. That's my justification and I'm sticking to it.

I bought several of the Chatterbox paper packs when TM had them (about 2 years ago I think). I love Chatterbox and felt like I had found treasure on an archaeological dig! I've used the paper for layouts and cards but I sill have tons of it left but I love it so much I won't part with it.
I've bought about 6 or 7 packs from other manufacturers (some of it cardstock). I feel I've gotten my money's worth but I have restricted myself from buying anymore of the 25 sheet packs. I'm going to let my daughters start using some of the packs (expect Chatterbox) now that I've used what I wanted. It's a win-win - they get to use mom's paper and I am able to keep their hands off my other paper!

I've managed to stay away from those 25-packs of all the same papers .... but I can't say the same for their other amazing deals, LOL! ^^^ I usually stay away from those, too, EXCEPT- if the B side is a small pattern in a color I use often, or is a distressed-looking neutral I know I can use for a lot of different things. I bought a 25-pack of a Basic Grey paper that looks like some sort of radio-wave pattern on the front side, but I love the back side because it's a distressed taupe... I wish I had bought two of the 25-packs. (I have no idea what collection it was from, off the top of my head.) OR, if it's a good, heavyweight paper and the B side is white. Then, I couldn't care less what the front side looks like either, and I'll buy a 25-pack because it ends up being cheaper than buying white cardstock.' ETA: scrapnnana, 35 to 50 cents per sheet is still not a bad deal, when you think about it-- that's how I justify (lol!) my paper pad purchases, too-- 'do I like enough of it to justify buying it, and if I get rid of (trade, donate, whatever) X sheets out of it, what does the cost per sheet come out to be?' I can't imagine going through what you are, to go through every bit of it and decide what to keep and what to get rid of. I would NOT want to make those decisions!

i don't mind the 25-packs of paper if it's a color i can work with for backgrounds or a line/ledger design i can use for journaling. not too long ago they had great 25-packs from graphic 45.
recently i picked up some great Carta Bella kits from them at a great price. i usually skip the other paper pads but will pick up a pack of Bazzill if i like the color and texture.
