Glad about your daughter's test results!
As for you, prayers for your colposcopy. I've been through many. I did take a xanax and have a friend drive me though--it was easier for me. Mine was cancer (twice) but they take out the affected area and continually watch you if it's positive. Eventually I had a hysterectomy. But, as Melissa said, take 1 step at a time. Breathe. You have all of our prayers and best wishes.

Praying for you Sue. Definitely follow up with your GP. If they feel there is cause for concern they should be able to make a phone call or order a stat procedure. Praying and hoping it is nothing.

Thank you once again. TMI but my cervix is very posterior and hard to visualise so I think that is why I am dreading the colposcopy so much- a normal Pap smear using a small speculum is still really uncomfortable/painful for me and more so now I have a j-pouch . I fear waiting to get it done more though. Counting down the hours until I can get into my GP in the morning - I keep stalking the online booking system but no appointments available until next week according to that. The reception opens at 8 in the morning so hopefully I will have some answers by midday tomorrow re what the lost letter said and how I can get the colposcopy ASAP. As my UK friends know, the. NHS sometimes has a different idea of urgent to the rest of us!
ETA- an appointment with a female GP just became available for 4.40 Monday . I will be trying to get an earlier one when the system refreshes at midnight tonight but at least I know I will definitely see someone tomorrow!
sorry to be such a worry-wort. Part of it is being a single parent and feeling as though I already used up all my blessings beating the colon cancer with seeming ease. I never felt I was worthy of that Grace and now feel as though things are catching up with me! I never felt any of this fear or emotion when I was facing the colon cancer- maybe because it was something I was at greater risk of for 20 years because on my colitis - I felt it was a 'given' at some point and was just grateful it didn't get me until I was 47!
