I am large busted and always have been. I wear that $60 Wacoal bra and it's worth every penny. It is truly a life changing bra. And for what it's worth -- I am a 34G and I am 47. So I truly understand. I wash my bras in the washing machine -- no fabric softener and hang them to dry. I started with two and would add one every few months. I generally rotate four bras. You really should try it. Trust me I know it's pricey but oh so worth it! They will last for years if you take care of them. Oh, I should have stated that I purchased two of the Wacoal bras. But, while they are better than what I had before, they still don't seem to fit just right. What happens if G isn't big enough? I've never seen anything offered bigger! Another Wacoal wearer here. I buy the ones that close in the front and absolutely love them. Have you tried that style? Not sure what cup sizes they come in- I'm a 36 D. They do have a sale 2-3 times a year at Belk. They will call you and let you know when they are on sale.

Thank you all for your advice. I know I SHOULD go for a fitting. I am so ashamed by the looks of my body. Stretch marks, sagging and fat. You know, these ladies who do fittings have seen it all. Small, big, fat, thin, missing boobs, flat chested etc. They want to help people like you. I know someone who says it is a great source of job satisfaction to fit someone properly and have them feeling so much better afterwards. A properly fitting bra, particularly when you are large can do wonders.

Try researching in your area a small boutique type place. I found one about 45-60 minutes away from me and was well worth the drive! One of the things I liked best about it is it's small, i've gone on weekdays and have been virtually alone in the store with the owner. The owner is awesome, i've gone in the winter and she can guess my size with pretty good accuracy while I was still wearing an unzipped jacket! She immediately grabbed a few styles and gave them to me to try. I could stand to lose a few lbs (and by few I mean more than a few!) She was great and made the whole thing a very comfortable experience. I left there wearing the right size for probably the first time ever! I'd definitely recommend researching a nice little out of the way place, it will be easier than you think! Trust me I dreaded it, but couldn't stand wearing bras that didn't fit so I decided it was time. I'm so glad I did it now and it wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be

I will also suggest a local bra fitter. It was my tax season treat for myself a few years back and, damn!!! I was wearing a DDD. Turned out I was a GG (J in US measurements). I also went down a band size. I bought some bras there that day but since I have found more selection shopping online. A friend, who is also very busty, suggested figleaves.com.
I can't quote right now but even a large busted, large gal like myself can have the bra resting against the sternum without the girls going in odd directions. I never thought I could wear underwires but can now, and comfortably.

The Glamorise "Ultimate full figure sport bra" is by far the best bra I have bought. It does not have an underwire but lifts like there is one. It really hold them in all day with out giving the uniboob look. I wear it as an everyday bra, not just sports. Not on sale retails for about $46. glamorise.com/Thanks, I'm going to check this out!

I was interested in this thread earlier because I knew I needed new bras. I went for a fitting at Nordstrom's and good thing I did - I've been wearing a 36 C or D and it turns out I am a 32G! Quite a different fit and feel.

I just checked Nordstrom.com and many of the Wacoal bras are on sale bringing them down to the mid-$40's range. Wacoal are my favorites too. They last a very long time if treated properly. (Hand washed, etc) Macy's does fitting as does Nordstroms. Stay clear of Victoria Secrets. They don't size right. When I went there with a friend they said they didn't have my size there. Duh. Victoria Secrets is horrible for bigger busted gals. I am a very fluffy lady and with that comes big boobs. My daughter was getting measured for new bras so I figured - what they heck - measure me. She told me two full cup sizes smaller than the bra I was actually wearing. I think she was hoping that I would just take her word for it and grab one and go without trying it on.

I've worn the Cacique for well over a decade. Frankly, when I found them, it was the first time I'd ever cried happy tears in a dressing room. Years of painful searching over at last. The Balconette bra is the only one that has ever corralled my girls to where they needed to be and gave me proper cleavage without weird muffiny-ness where there shouldn't be any.
My loyalty to these has kept me from trying the other brands mentioned. But should I ever stray, thanks for all the info ladies. They all sound great.

And, I'm back. I just tried on my new bra with the dress that spurred me in to action and the difference is amazing!

Thank you all for your advice. I know I SHOULD go for a fitting. I am so ashamed by the looks of my body. Stretch marks, sagging and fat. If you have a Nordstrom close, I highly recommend getting a bra fitting there. I am very self-conscious and was so nervous getting sized. But the lady that helped me was so nice and listened to what I liked and didn't. I probably tried on 20 different bras, but I found three styles that I really liked and went home with 1-2 of each. I pay $50-60 for my bras, but I take good care of them so they last. Getting the girls in the right place makes everything else feel better too!

I hate buying bras and have yet to find one that fits the way I think it ought to.

Quite a different fit and feel. You and me both! What style did you go with? I ended up with 3 - a Wacoal, a Chantelle and a Natori. My other bras are so old they pretty much lay flat when I put them in the drawer; it is so funny to put those in there with the cups all nice and perky.

I am also a G-girl, with extra belly. I found a full body with underwire bra a few years ago, and I haven't looked back since. It looks like a bathingsuit, but it does wonders for holding in my belly in a flattering shape, and lifts and supports the G-girls. If you haven't tried one of those, I recommend you give it a try. It makes me feel SO much less insecure about my bellyrolls when I wear something tightfitting. I can't recommend a shop though, as I am not in the US.

You've all inspired me to go get fitted. I'm also overweight so I've been too embarrassed to have it done. But I've spent the big bucks on Wacoal and still not feeling quite right. So I'm heading to a small boutique store tomorrow morning. My problem is that when I find one that seems to fit in the cup and the band, the underwires either dig into my ribs (under breast), or poke me in the armpits.

I will never buy another bra again without a professional's help, they are INVALUABLE. Thankfully I have a great shop near my work that takes such good care of me and my 38Gs. My favorite bras are Elomi and they DO lay flat against my breastbone. AND they are pretty! Yes, they are expensive, but I just look SO much better with the right bra. But even within the same brand all bras fit different so having a pro help me is awesome!

It's not padded/lined and the design shows thru on my shirts. My sports bra is a Natori. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I I bought one, wore it for TWELVE hours and then bought another! I actually prefer it to my Fantasie ones these days. I've never worn Wacoal. I might need to check that one out. My current, everyday bra is the Fantasie tee shirt bra. It fit so well when I bough it! Now, almost 4 years later, the elastic is shot, the bonded lining is all pulling apart. I've worn 3 for that amount of time. Might be time to get new ones. I think I can wait until the semi-annual sale in July. At least that's what I tell myself when I'm falling out the bottom of them and the back strap won't stay put. Lol
