I started this job on 1/2/15 and thought everything was going okay until about 2 weeks ago. My boss suddenly turned on me and told me I was doing a terrible job and that nothing I was doing was right. She also said that no one else in the company likes the job I'm doing. However, just earlier that day I had at least 4 co-workers tell me that I was learning quickly and doing really well, they were so glad that I was there. Anyway, fast forward to today and my friend sends me a link to my job posted on Craigslist. They posted it yesterday, I was out sick. I don't even know why I'm here except I need the insurance. I wish I could tell them to stuff it and leave.
I was just hoping I could gather some good thoughts and prayers (from those that do) from my pea community.
I have been trying so hard but no matter what I do, it isn't right. I do things exactly as I was trained so I truly don't understand.
Thanks for letting me vent, it is taking all of my power not to break down and cry.

Sounds like someone has a particular friend/family member/lover they want to hire so they have to get rid of someone first. Tag, you're it!!
So sorry to hear you will lose your job. Praying you find another quickly with a more ethical boss.

I'm sorry *hugs*. These things often have a way of working themselves out, I bet you'll end up some place that's much better for you.
Also, it sounds like it's just the boss that has a bug up her butt over something, who knows what you did to set her off.

Sorry to hear your job is in jeopardy. But it doesn't sound like your boss is a very nice person to work for anyhow. Sending (hugs) and hopes that there is a better job waiting for you out there.

Did you ask your boss what you were doing wrong and how to fix it? I agree with tomocus, it sounds like the boss has someone they want to hire!

So sorry that you are getting such mixed messages about your performance and the job. Find someone there who can be called for a reference in case it's needed.
Hugs for being there in limbo. It's got to be hard on you.

I'm sorry. My past experience has shown me though that these things are generally blessings eventually. Hugs.

Oh kkrenn, I'm sorry. That stinks. It does sound like it's not you...and that probably means there's not much you could have done about it.

She isn't easy to work for and I should have hit the bricks when, during my first week here, I ran across a drawer that had previous employee files. There are 27 previous employees and the company has only been open for 3 years. She is the worst micro-manager I have ever come across, no one has authority to do anything but her. I received a notice asking for payment of an invoice so I sent it to accounting, WRONG, I was supposed to send it to her for approval. She told me to ship items to Malaysia, so I did. WRONG, what she meant was show her the cost and have her approve. I have another employee that was standing here when she told me to ship the product. He is just as confused as I am.
I know you are all right when you say it is a blessing but it doesn't take the sting away. I'll be 43 on Friday and I've never been fired. I don't like feeling like a failure.

You're not a failure. Being fired for being competent isn't being a failure. I hope you find another job very quickly and it's an amazing job with excellent benes.
Don't worry about other companies thinking badly about you being fired. The interviewers hear about micro-managers and bad bosses in the community. They probably have heard about your boss before. Still don't say anything about your boss even if they bring it up.
I hope your coworkers can give you a great reference.

You're not a failure. She is. She doesn't know how to properly manage people or a business.
No matter what you did, you'd never please a miserable person like she is.
I hope that a better job comes your way SOON!

Honestly, if someone like that wanted to fire me, I'd at least get a couple licks in on my way out the door and tell her that she is the worst micro manager that you've ever met and no WONDER she's had almost 30 employees in 3 years. But before you do that, talk to someone you work with about references.
