Good luck with the potential jobs. Your current one doesn't deserve you.

freebird, Honestly, if someone like that wanted to fire me, I'd at least get a couple licks in on my way out the door and tell her that she is the worst micro manager that you've ever met and no WONDER she's had almost 30 employees in 3 years.
^ ^ ^ This will bite you in the back end when you least expect it. Always leave on good terms. You never know when a former co-worker becomes a boss and may want to hire you at a different company where this former co-worker would now work.
Yeah, I would want to leave on good terms if at all possible. Let Karma get your licks in for you! You don't always get to see it happen, but when and if you ever do it is so, so ! DH (who is seriously as honest as the day is long) got fired once. His boss, who was not such an honorable person, accused him of stealing $40 from the cash register. Who would be so stupid as to do something obviously traceable like that and risk losing a good paying management job over $40? Um, NO. DH let it roll off and got hired somewhere else with better pay and benefits less than three days later. Fast forward a few years. We're sitting around watching the TV news one night and they're reporting about a house in a very high end area that was literally burning right to the ground. IT WAS HIS FORMER BOSS' HOUSE! Thankfully no one was hurt, but the dude lost everything. Antiques, artwork, expensive cars in the garage, all gone. It was just crazy. We just looked at each other and said, "Whaaat?" OP, you will be okay! It sounds like you have a few solid leads lined up and I hope one of them pans out for you sooner than later.

Ok, so I didn't get fired yesterday but I am just waiting for it to happen. I hope they don't wait for tomorrow because it is my birthday and I would truly hate to get fired on my birthday. Although thinking it over it would probably be the best present I ever received! LOL
I would go to hr however; the way the company is setup she is 50% owner and her husband is the other 50% so going to hr wouldn't do a darn thing to help anyone. I am hoping that they let me go today, I wonder if I should go to the hr guy and just say "hey, if ya'll are going to let me go then please just get it over with so we can all move on".
Thanks for all of the wonderful encouragement, ya'll have helped me realize that this is a blessing not a terrible thing and I am ready to move on!

Wishing you wonderful things. I do hope you can find something better. Something where you are treated with respect and dignity and the owner has a way better track record!

Ok, so get this! I was just pulled into the hr office and told that they have no intention on firing me and they are terribly sorry for the way I found out about the job listings. They have listed for 2 jobs hoping to pull in a wide range of candidates and I am not to feel threatened in any way. I think this is a crock of crap because 1 of the ads lists all of my job duties, every single one! How can I not feel threatened by that? ? I really think they feel I am the dumbest person on the planet or something. On a happier note, I have sent our 4 more resumes today. I don't care what they say, I am outta here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. I'd be out of there asap no matter what they say to you. That doesn't sound like a good work environment for anyone. Best of luck in your job search!

you sound so much better today. No better way to make your life better than to get pissed off enough to do something about it. And I agree with you, they're looking for your replacement. Probably want to keep you around to do your job and train your replacement.

I was also confused about listing a job on Craigslist. I wouldn't take seriously a company hiring from CL. There are so many great jobs listed on our Craigslist- reputable companies looking for all sorts of help- nurses, dental assistants, receptionists, manual labor, retail, teachers, admins, etc. It's not just cleaning and lawn mowing jobs or sketchy places looking to hire cheaply.
