I posted earlier about not being able to find a group (Search Squad) that I just joined on Monday. I posted a couple questions, had pleasant interactions with some people, even got a PM with a reply. Told my SIL about it and she joined today. I typed it in the search box and nothing. I pulled up my notifications from yesterday and all the other notifications for other things are there, but nothing about any search squad posts. I logged on as our work FB on the same computer and search squad came up but when I searched the members, I didn't see myself. Any ideas how or why this would happen?
Thanks, Ann

Did you look for it in your Likes list?

It could just be a Facebook glitch that will work itself out. I've heard of it happening before. And sometimes in the large groups your posts will disappear. No one seems to know why it happens.

Did you look for it in your Likes list? I had to join the group and be approved. Don't think it will show up under likes. And it doesn't show up under my groups.

It certainly is possible to be banned from a group. According to this link: It's very possible the block was accidental by one of the admins, that kind of stuff happens, especially from the mobile client. If your SIL was able to join, have her message one of the group admins to check and see if you were blocked by accident.

Oh-oh! They found out you're a pea and banned you because an NSBR pea is someone to be feared! You just know how we are

What I want to know is what did you do to get blocked?? In all likelihood, it was probably an accident....Message one of the admins.

I also had no problem finding the group. There are over 14,000 members. I would have your sister message one of the admins especially if your initially posts were benign type posts/questions...........that is, nothing inflammatory that might have gotten you banned.

I think I figured out what it was. I initially posted people I was looking for and got replies. Then I posted a benign post about why everyone was there and got tons of nice replies and posted my reasons for using the site. Then I asked if anyone had been in a Booth Memorial Hospital to give birth and someone tagged someone else in the post. I originally thought that they were tagging that person because they knew she had experience there but after scrolling through I realized that the person tagged was an administrator. I don't know why they would consider that offensive, perhaps they thought I was trolling for info. What I was really doing was trying to understand my MIL better. She had given my SIL up for adoption and refuses to meet her. I read the book "The Girls That Went Away" and felt a lot of sympathy for her after reading the book. I had my husband join the group and I messaged the administrator through him and gave my apologies for any misunderstandings but never heard back and then I had him leave the group because I didn't want to look like some creepy stalker.

I'm surprised that they would remove you without telling you the problem. Is this clearly against the group rules?

Our FB groups has some issues the other day. The entire group disappeared for some and for others it looked as if they were banned. Maybe that's what happened to you? Just a FB glitch.

I signed up for a local garage sale group and was approved. When I went to list something for sale I discovered I had been banned. I had never posted before. I took it as a sign that I wasn't supposed to be in that group and moved on. lol

I mean nothing by it, but wonder how I was interpreted. Nope, got nothing from them. Just tried to go the page and nothing. I can't believe with 14,000 member that I would get banned for that.

@beachgirl55 , your post seems so benign to me. If that was the cause, I suspect that their may be some history within the group that you aren't aware of. I'm still leaning towards it being a clerical (glitch) error though.

Ann Your posts may not have been offensive but they may have been considered off topic. Too much off topic chatter can get people banned from some groups even if it is completely harmless and kind. you posted two things that sound like they may have been off topic. It sounds like a site for finding people not discussion about why everyone is there or about birthing choices. If every new person just chats about tangential issues the real reason for existing as a group can get lost.
Some sites only give a "welcome here are our rules" for a warning.
