How do you get your scrapping done? Are you able to scrap very often? Have you come up with a quick way to haul out your supplies? Where do you scrap? How do you overcome organizing challenges and any other challenges that come with not having a scrap room?
I used to have a scrap room and now that I don't I scrap so much less. I have a hard time focusing when I'm surrounded by the chaos of my house and my family. I haven't found a convenient way to haul out my stuff. I'm on the lookout for a container that will hold my most used supplies that I can quickly bring out to my dining room table. I feel like I have to block out an entire day to get any scrapping done and I still don't get nearly as much done as I used to.

Having a space to keep some things out really does make a difference in productivity, doesn't it?
In our old house I set up a folding card table in the corner of our living room, and added some wall shelves. It wasn't the prettiest solution, but it was important to me and it was the only place I could have a small amount of space. Is there anywhere in your home you could carve out a corner for yourself?
Would you have room for a rolling cart? That would make scrapping on your dining room table much easier. If there is any kind of flat surface nearby, I'd totallyk invest in a few pieces of foamcore. You could work on the foamcore on your table, and quickly pick it up when the table is needed. It might still be out somewhere, but it wouldn't be permanent and you could quickly pack it all away if you needed to clean up completely for some reason.

I have a small living space so no scrap room for me I have 2 shelves in my dining area where I keep all my scrapping things organized and scrap on my coffee table in the living room. I take what I need as I scrap and put things right back where they go. Cleaning as I go makes it easy for me not to end up with a mess or clutter in either one of the rooms.

Do you have room for a rolling cart in a closet or corner of your bedroom? At the end of a hallway? That way you could fill it with most often used things. And roll it right to your workspace and put stuff back as you use it, since your cart would be right there. And then just roll it back when you're done. Then you could put your less-used stuff in your dining room so that you only bring that stuff out occassionlly
I like Ashley's foam core idea too.

I used to be in the same situation. I had all of my tools in a big artbin tote, and I would organize projects to work on in an Iris box so that I could pick it all up to work at the dining room table. I hung a clear vinyl shoe pocket organizer in the inside of my hall closet to hold embellishments and other items. One of the first larger organizer pieces I bought was a cart with Iris boxes for 12 x 12 paper that I could store under a table. Things were stashed in various places in the house, but they were easy to access and put back away when I was finished. Now that I have a dedicated room, it's a lot easier, but I managed to make it work pretty well for 15 years or so before that.

can you kit a project. Then you just pull the project in and out. Maybe have it in a iris case. then grab your tool bag and a iris case and work like that.
Where are you supplies housed now? Are they every where? Maybe one of the rolling tool boxes would work for you. Wheel it out to the dinning room table work away and then wheel it back.

I craft a lot on the dining table even though I have a small desk in the study, but if hubby is working in there I can't as he writes and needs to concentrate. I use a foldable crate to ferry paper, trimmer and big bite or big shot. My necessities are packed in a cleaning tote, the kind with two sections and a handle in the middle.

Thank you all so much for your comments and suggestions! They got me thinking about how I can improve with what I have. All of my supplies are in a closet for now but they're not stored in a convenient way. I have to pull things out to get at what I want. A rolling cart and a couple of iris cases would be ideal, but until then I have a plastic 3-drawer container that up until a few minutes ago was storing things I never use but don't want to throw away. I emptied the drawers and put those in bags at the back of the closet and now my drawers are ready to be filled with all of my most useful supplies! I also have another container that can be emptied and filled with my most useful paper. I'll still have to scrap on the dining room table or coffee table, but I'll have much easier access to my supplies in a way that won't make it feel like a chore or a huge mess.
Thanks again!

Sounds like you figured out a great compromise! Yes! I'm really happy with how I reorganized yesterday and I'm so excited to scrap today!

Having a space to keep some things out really does make a difference in productivity, doesn't it? Not only ^this^, but since my crafting space is the kitchen peninsula, when someone wants to cook, I have to put stuff away. And when everyone else is sleeping, I can't be up late/early scrapping either.
