I really liked the episode!
Dan was annoying as per usual lol! Ugh he was so condescending to Shirin and fake with her about the whole Will thing. Yes Shirin is a drama queen but she had a right to be upset over what Will said and she was bang on about how no one came to her defence other then Mike. He was so fake too at the reward I kept thinking if he was on the other team he would have been bad mouthing the team he wasn't on lol.
I get really frustrated with the group of 6 ugh being 6th gets you nada yet they seem to think they should stay with Momma C and Tyler and would rather vote out someone that is annoying like Shirin who isn't going to win anything including votes lol.
I didn't have a problem with Tyler going thru Dan's bag because really if I had something that important I would keep it hidden or on my person as much as possible. All is fair in Survivor haha!
Ugh Mike is a machine when it comes to challenges even though his strategy wasn't the winning one for the reward challenge he at least had one lol unlike the barrel rolling one lol.
I had to laugh at Dan giving Rodney the pep talk during the immunity challenge he made it sound like Mike was going to drop his weight when in fact he had 3 lengths of rope wrapped around his spool and Rodney was barely hanging on with a 1/2 measure of rope around his spool. It wasn't even close and I don't think they should have had a men's and women's necklace dumb.
I loved that Shirin and Mike tried to sway the other survivors before tribal they had really good points but apparently they would rather stick with Will Mama C and Tyler and 4th 5th and 6th lol.
Tribal was so good and loved when Mike brought out the hidden idol my only wish was that he had given Shirin a heads up before hand about his plan and let her hold it before the vote and maybe the others would have thought she would play it and wouldn't have cast any votes her way. Ugh I was really hoping his plan would have worked but I guess in some ways it did in that it put doubt on the blue collars with Dan getting a vote from Tyler and also it gave him some points with the jury who seemed really pleased and impressed with Mike's move in trying to save Shirin. I am thinking when they got back to camp Dan had a major melt down over why he go the vote but really he or one of the other 2 morons will probably get more votes next week because now that they know Mike has an idol he can't get any votes haha!
Edited to add I hated how Dan compared being adopted to Shirin's background again shows how much of loser he really is ugh!!!
I hope Mike goes all the way he is really the only one left who is playing the game and doing what he needs to survive!

I also think Mike should have let Shirin hold on to the idol. Given that he backtracked with the loved one's letters, he should have known the tribe might not trust his game play. Having Shirin hold it might have made it look believable.
I really, really dislike Dan and a Will. Dans voice is almost enough to drive me over the edge, much less his style of communicating.
Will, I can't believe he still doesn't think he did anything wrong. Disgusting. He crossed the line. No matter how heated an argument you don't start personal attacks. But it shows how weak his character is that he had nothing else to hurl at her but personal attacks. And of course, during the reunion show he'll have watched the show, he'll have realized what the public thinks of him and he'll have a "sincere" apology for Shirin.

Moving my posts from the first thread because it looks like that might fall to the wayside and I really do love discussing the show (clearly!): I enjoyed this episode, even though things didn't always turn out the way that I wanted. I really wanted Mike's team to win the reward--couldn't stand watching those a-holes gloating over their win on the boat. I also really wanted to see Shirin win the female immunity necklace. My gosh that would have been awesome! She tried though--she beat out a much younger girl. Mama C was just a beast on that. And how about Mike? Man--that guy is pretty incredible. He looked in control almost the whole time. His rope barely budged! And I would have loved to see the main alliance panic more and vote out one of their own, rather than call Mike on his bluff and keep their votes with Shirin. Good play though Mike--I'm impressed at the try. And yes, Shirin completely understood why he didn't use it. The way he played it was very smart. He's got a really good shot at getting to the final four or further. Of course he'll have to continue winning immunity challenges, but hey Terry Deitz did it his season in Survivor Panama (remember how he won challenge after challenge, knowing any time he lost he was immediately out, which he finally was in the last immunity challenge?) so it could happen! Dan, you continually to disgust me. I wish I could see your face when you watch this season back. You think you are so smart and that you know your place in your alliance--you have no clue. Mike tried to tell you and you would not listen. Now you get to watch Tyler in his private confessionals talk about how stupid you were and that Mike was correct and you should have listened. Love it. And your fake apology to Shirin? That would have been good game except that Shirin knows that you are full of shit. She's a drama queen because she doesn't want to sit there and be verbally attacked in a very personal way and screamed at? You are an ass and if I was married to you, I would be ashamed. I heard that Will's wife tried to come to his defense and explain him. That asshole still isn't apologizing. My gosh, how stupid and nasty are you people? Even if you don't mean it, it's better to try for jury votes if nothing else. No one will give that money to Will. No one. If it wasn't bad enough that he's a stupid slug of a player, his nasty outburst sealed that deal. Applauding Shirin's vote off at TC (especially after she went out with such class) was so tacky. Again, stupid, stupid players. There are only two people there that deserve to win IMO--Mike and Tyler. If any one of those others win I will be disgusted. I really, really want Mike to win though. I'm sure Tyler is actually a decent guy and I admire his gameplay, but I can't root for him over Mike simply because of who he is aligned with. Mike's bluff to give Shirin the HII really paid off it looks like. All hell breaks lose back at camp. Big rude awakening for Dan! Shirin looks so pretty in her Ponderosa footage--love her hair all slicked back. She is also very well-spoken. Also, it's funny, I know Jenn loves Shirin (she's said as much) but you can already see her getting irritated by Shirin's demanding and sort of overpowering personality. I think Hali (who I just adore) really puts it all in perspective. So again, I can see where Shirin could annoy people and rub them the wrong way BUT that is very different then being rude, cruel and malicious as some of them have been to her. Dan was cracking me up when he said something to the effect of "Well Shirin called Will names too--what about that?" I would love to hear about the verbal assault he thinks Shirin is guilty of with Will. That will be interesting to hear about and it better be discussed at the reunion. As usual, I think that some people (like Dan, Will, and Rodney) think that they are going to be beloved by fans. They will be surprised, and I will be delighted, when they discover that the fans detest them. Okay, here are the links (why can I no longer find the link button??--okay, I'll put them in the long way): Ponderosa footage with Shirin: www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/video/RCh5O9yu0EsDyegALG8vARupQSzWE6RS/survivor-ponderosa-shirin/Dalton's recap: www.ew.com/recap/survivor-season-30-episode-11Jeff's Q&A: www.ew.com/article/2015/04/30/survivor-jeff-probst-recap-sexismI haven't read the recap or Q&A yet, so off to do those. Should be interesting because I see that the title of the Q&A with Jeff is "Asking Jeff to respond to the ugliness from the men toward the women". Hmmm.....

Okay, can I just say how much I love Dalton Ross? I don't always agree with him, but I usually do. I almost want to copy his whole thing over here (but I won't!) for those who don't read it. But here are a few things I really liked:
I also love him referring to Tyler as an "emotionless cyborg" and then this little blurb about Shirin was really nice and right on target:

I forgot to mention that! Wth was that all about? How did Mike find out about the extra vote??
I also forgot about (until I read Dalton's recap), Dan's stupid reaction to Shirin's troubled life. But I was adopted Jeff--my life is very similar! I love that Jeff didn't let him get away with that. Dan, you are a clueless ass.
Oh, and I apolgoize--I'm all fired up this season and just realized I have a lot of cursing in my posts! Sorry!

Great episode!
I must have missed Tyler going thru Dan's bag. I saw the preview last week, but didn't see the actual event last nite. I'm still not cool w/it at all. It's one thing if you think someone stole or is hiding something they shouldn't be (like the food whatshername hid last season), but Dan bid on & won that advantage fair & square. Really, really wrong to go thru his bag, imo. Do you (collective you) think he'd have the same attitude if someone went thru Carolyn's stuff & found her idol?
Dan, Dan, Dan . . . you really are a moron. It is not the alliance of six. It is the alliance of 4 and then you & Sierra. Wake up. Sierra almost had it, but then drank more Kool Aid.
Tribal was epic. Even though it didn't play out as I had hoped (and I REALLY wanted the 2 of them to win immunity, just so I could watch the other ones go at each other!), it was awesome. Can't wait to watch next week when Dan implodes. Wonder if he'll finally realize he's on the outside & smudging the glass while he's looking in.
Speaking of which, how long til Rodney figures out he's not really calling the shots and that it's Tyler?
And while I still think Will is a piece of shit for the way he yelled at Shirin last week, I'm almost more mad at everyone else for letting it happen. They all suck.
There. I think I'm done. Maybe not . . . .

Yeah, Tyler grabbed it and ran off in the woods with it to look at it, just in case Dan came back. He made sure he wasn't going to get caught in the act. Do I think he, meaning Tyler, would be okay with someone going through Carolyn's bag? I don't think he would like it--who would?--but I think he's pretty clinical as far as the game goes (or "an emotionless cyborg" as Dalton calls him) and would understand that's how it goes. But, I think Tyler would never be as stupid as Dan and leave the HII or clue in his bag. I mean really Dan, he's this super fan so clearly he's seen enough episodes where people get their bags searched, so why leave it there? Dumb, dumb, dumb! I'm one who IS okay with the searching of the bags--it's shady, it's nasty, but it's gameplay and I would do it myself. But, I think if you object to someone going through bags (and I mean the collective "you" also because I think most people on this board DO object to it) then you should say it's never okay, not even if you're looking for stolen food. Because what if you're wrong and they didn't steal food? Now you've invaded their privacy for no good reason. Either people's bags are up for grabs or they aren't. that's my opinion.
I don't think Rodney will ever figure it out--his massive ego won't let him entertain the possibility that he's not running this show.

I forgot to mention that! Wth was that all about? How did Mike find out about the extra vote?? If you are referring to the part where Mike says "Dan still got two votes", I think he is just referring to the fact that two people wrote his name down at tribal, not that Dan still has the perk of two votes from the reward.

oh my gosh!! i was so excited when Mike pulled out the idol at tribal, I was nervous thinking they might not believe him bc of the love letter ordeal and I was right but thats ok, at least hes playing the game without being a sleaze ball! I really wish Shirin was still there though, if anything he did shake up the 6 so Im excited to watch next weeks.

I agree that Mike meant Dan received 2 votes at tribal council.
I couldn't believe when Dan was comparing his home life with Shirin's. How is having adoptive parents and a birth mother comparable to being from a verbally abusive home with very little family at all? I was glad Jeff called him out on it!!

I loved the way Mike played everyone at TC and can't believe that it was Tyler that fell for the bluff (and not the least bit surprised that Will also fell for it) and think Dalton Ross said it perfectly:
Also, I’m hereby issuing a serious strategic demerit for Tyler. If there was any chance Mike was going to actually give that idol to Shirin, he would have done it before the voting. I didn’t expect Will to see through that ruse, but Tyler should have been able to figure that one out.
I don't expect Mike to keep quiet about voting for Tyler, so Dan will know 2 of his alliance voted for him. This is definitely what he meant when he said Dan has 2 votes.
The scrambling for control next week will be interesting and I really hope Tyler does not get immunity.

Yes, you guys are absolutely right! Mike was referring to the fact that Dan got two votes from his so-called alliance. Funny how it came out the way it did when Dan ALSO has two votes he can use at some point.
I really, really can't wait to see how they talk their way around that one with Dan. If Dan flips and gets Sierra to (and Sierra has always been ready for a flip), he could use those two votes and at least tie the vote. I doubt that would happen but who knows?

That would be the best case scenario at this point. Dan and Sierra flip and go with Mike. So the 3 of them could have 4 votes against someone. However there would still be Mama C, Tyler, Will and Rodneys votes, so it would be 4 to 4, a tie, if they all vote for the same two people.

So, Jeff really hyped this season up as being a great season. Maybe it is still to come, but so far, it has been pretty straightforward, at least as far as who goes home last week. I hope he wasn't referring to last week's episode as a great one - it was painful to watch.
I thought the clapping when Shirin was voted out was obnoxious, and I though Shirin was cute enjoying the moment of having her torch snuffed.
