Do *you* dip your saltines in coffee? That's an odd one that I've never heard of, so I'm wondering how you came up with it!

No, I have never done that. I don't dip anything into stuff I drink, okay well maybe a celery stick in a Caesar.
But I could eat potatoes chips dipped in plain old sour cream, any day of the week!

I dip my toast in my runny egg yolk. That is the extent of my dipping habits.
I do not like to put soggy food in my mouth. But I will take a bite of something and follow it with a drink that then makes it soggy in my mouth and for some reason that is okay.

ICK! I don't drink coffee cuz I think it tastes nasty but I'd hate it even more with saltine crumbs in it

Saltines in coffee... that's a new one on me!
I used to like to put popcorn in my chicken noodle soup. It would shrink with a satisfying little sizzle when dropped into the soup. Not exactly dipping, but similar. And probably weird.

I like potato chips dipped in buttercream frosting! My friend dips her grilled cheese in chocolate pudding.

my sisters used crush up saltines and pour milk over them and eat it like cereal. I guess they learned it from their dad. I was always horrified...soggy crackers and milk?

I thought saltines in coffee was strange till I read the grilled cheese in pudding post... I don't dip much of anything except sometimes cookies in milk. And I don't drink coffee, tea, or hot chocolate at all. (which some people might find odd in and of itself, lol.)

Bitchy Rich , neither of them do it. The cycle of saltine abuse has been broken! I have my iPhone calling me bitch, fyi. Hee. scorpeao , my dad does that, only in a glass of milk, so that he has sort of tilt the glass and shovel the slop into his gaping maw.

My mom and auntie used to do this. They also poured milk over cooked white rice, or broken pieces of white bread added some sugar and ate it. I admit to doing that a few times. Wow, I haven't thought of that combo in years.

I bet my parents (my dad was born in 1930) used to eat things very similar to this.

No crackers in my coffee. A chip may get dipped in ice cream on a movie night but not regularly.

We are big salad dressing dippers. Everything from pizza slices and chicken fingers to saltines and mozzarella sticks are fair game. And we love the various dips when I make Mexican or Chinese. Graham crackers into peanut butter or Nutella are a big hit also. The little condiment bowls we have are constantly in use.

I'm not much of a dipper, because I don't like soggy food. I will dip graham crackers and biscotti. That's about it.

I dip ginger biscuits (cookies) into my coffee sometimes. Lots of people dip biscuits into hot drinks or milk in the UK.

Is this coffee with cream and sugar, or black coffee? The resulting taste would be very different for each coffee version. I enjoy dipping cookies in black coffee. I'd dip crackers into anything meant for chips. If I didn't have chips. Dang, writing that is making me want clam dip and chips.

I've never heard of saltines in coffee but I won't knock it 'til I try it. I've always dipped McDonald's french fries in vanilla shakes. Growing up, my Abuelita taught me to dip warm, buttered Cuban bread in our cafe con leche as well. I also dip grilled cheese in tomato soup and of course, cookies in milk. I've never really thought about this before but it's evident I'm not opposed to dippin'.

That's a new one for me. I don't dip anything except grilled cheese in tomato soup. My dad, born in 1922, used to crumble cornbread in a glass and pour buttermilk over it. Ick........
