DD is a FB friend, so I don't want to embarrass her by posting it.
But my girl ended her first year of University (BA in History, minor in the Classics) with a 4.0!
Technically, here in Canada they do go by percentage grades, but she said they post it as the US point system at the end of the year.
DH and I have no idea where her brains come from...LOL
We joke that if we'd stuck to one child we'd have hit the jackpot. Oldest DD has the brains, middle DD is the looker, and DS is Mr. Sports dude. We like to spread it out! LOL

Fantastic! Are you sure you can't post on FB and just block it from her (I do that sometimes with my kids)? ?

Congrats to your DD. I was a classics major, although they called it letters at my school.

Congrats to your DD. I was a classics major, although they called it letters at my school. This might be different - for DD the "classics" minor focusses on the Greek & Roman foundations of Western civilization. She has to take Greek & Latin, ancient history, mythology & archaeology. Although it does cross paths with the school of language & literatures at the University - so maybe the same thing?

Fantastic! Are you sure you can't post on FB and just block it from her (I do that sometimes with my kids)? ? I probably could - although with my luck my Mom would see it and comment, and then DD might see that....such a fuss and bother...LOL I just don't want to embarrass her. A few of her friends are also my friends on Facebook too, and she's not one to go on about marks and such, so I don't want to put it out there if she hasn't - kwim?

I had to take an ancient and a modern language and history, philosophy and literature classes. I always joked that my major may not help me get a job, but it is teaching me to make small talk at a cocktail party. I ended up going to law school and the critical thinking skills and writing skills I learned as a letters major were really helpful. Good luck to your daughter! She is off to a great start!
