Okay, I know this is somewhat of a weird question and it turned into somewhat of a vent also! I am helping a "client" to make some gift albums and she doesn't have a big budget for the project.
This has been a frustrating project for me. I didn't really know her, she contacted me through meet up and asked me to help her. After a couple of conversations back and forth I realized that she had some sort of developmental delay. So I am trying to be understanding. She doesn't have much extra money for this project, so I am doing it as a favor.
So far I am supplying all the materials except for the albums which I purchased on sale for $12.00 each. (She chose the albums and reimbursed me.) She is paying me a material fee, but it will not completely cover the cost of my materials. She received a $50 Michael's card for her birthday, but she has spent all but $10.00 of it on items not related to this project. She told me her mom spent some of it. So I am a little frustrated about that.
I was not even thinking about how much adhesive I would use to put together 2 albums worth of layouts (which is 40 pages!) So when I thought of it, sent her a message (FB message) that when we got together to work on the album I would bring a coupon and she could purchase some adhesive with the remainder of her gift card. (We are using the craft room at Michaels to work on the albums.) She responded agreeably. Then this morning she messaged me back saying she had a couple of glue sticks (the kind that go on purple and dry clear, she didn't say what brand) that we could use and that she wants to save the $10 for stickers and embellishments.
I would never use a glue stick on my layouts. But I thought I would ask...maybe they work really well. I guess I should double check if they are acid free.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for listening!
Julie
