i bought the original big set of distress markers. 39? markers. I just printed out a chart of the colors from a rangerink site & then I colored my markers next to rangerink's colors. most of my markers were quite true. which leads me to believe that ranger's color chart was true to color. however a few were off. a few were WAY OFF! can anybody give me any help? is there a way to return individual markers to ranger? or will they not be bothered?WAY OFF:
- crushed olive -- shows up as a yuck color!
- stormy sky -- is PINK!
- brushed corduroy -- dark, yuck color!
- frayed burlap....much darker!
SLIGHTLY OFF: - wild honey...is honey colored. i think the pinkish sample may be wrong here!
- shabby shutters ...a bit dark
- peeled paint....darker & greener
- faded jeans ... a bit dark
- dusty concord... dark!
other than that, they are dead on! but, i must say that "squeeZED lemonade" shows up on the site as a green & is described as "pale yellow" I don't have that marker. any suggestions/help appreciated!

Squeezed Lemonade is a pale yellow. I would get in touch with Ranger's CS and let them know. Maybe they'll send you out replacements for the one's that are off.

I've had a bad experience all round with these. Often they dry out within weeks, or don't work straight out of the (Michaels) multi-pack. The colours differ from pen to pen (I have 2 dusty rose, 2 mustard...) I need to contact Ranger, but I hate complaining. Honestly - I have 16 of them - not ONE is usable.

I had issues with about 7 of their ink pads a few years ago and they sent me new ones. I haven't dealt with them for any other issues, but back then their customer service was awesome. I'd contact them and see what they say.

i wrote to ranger ink (through their online form) & received a reply this morning. I have to take photos & photos & supply info.
will give it a try! I think they are requiring more than necessary! JMO

i finally decided that only 2 of the pens didn't match the colors on their caps (better idea than comparing the colors to a printed from computer color chart from ranger site): - Stormy Sky way waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy off: a PINK, instead of a blue!
- Brushed Corduroy seemed a bit more olive than it should be.
after receiving the photo of the pens & sample as requested, they said they would send new pens. the 2 pens arrived within a couple of days Stormy Sky is definitely the right one now! nOT positive that the Brushed Corduroy is much different, maybe a bit. wasn't a hassle & saved me hunting down a Stormy Sky marker to buy as replacement.

Since you printed it from your computer, the colors may have printed and accurately. If you were low on one color or another, the colors may not be true on your printout

My brushed corduroy was a yucky green color. I contacted customer service, they asked for some photos of the marker itself, I guess to make sure I hadn't damaged the tips or something and they are supposed to send me a new one. I must say, from the email correspondence, they seem to have great service, I received a reply to my emails within an hour of each one.
ETA: I received my replacement marker yesterday and it's perfect. I'm really happy with the customer service I received. They were polite, apologetic, and prompt to fix the issue. Makes me feel better about spending money on their products.
