I often find myself double checking my spelling of the words "Schedule" and "Special"; even when I spell them correctly they still don't "look" correct to me. Anyone else find themselves double checking certain words?

I always have to check 'months'. I want to spell it 'monthes'. I mean, you spell it 'clothes', right? And potatoes. After Dan Quayle (it was him, right?), I've never felt sure of myself.

I always have to double check separate and sergeant. Shoot, who am I kidding. I have to check a lot of words. Spell check is my friend. When I am typing fast, I tend to spell like I speak and I have an atrocious southern accent and want to spell like I speak. Which means I add vowels, all kinds of endings that aren't supposed to be there and extra syllables.

Sometimes I question if the Refupeas will think I've misspelled a word if I use the non-American spelling. So I hesitate if I use colour, neighbour etc. (usually words with a U!)

Separate and definitely often look wrong to me. I want to spell them seperate and definately. I can't think of any others right now but those two have been problematic for years.

Judgment and Knowledge always give me trouble. Me too. Not the spelling, but the practical applications of the two.

--exercise, license, collectible (vs. collectable)... those are a few that I always spell wrong the first time.

Commitment For unknown reasons I've wanted a second T lately. Probably because of the similarity to "committee." I'm a former editor; when I worked on a public health journal, I ALWAYS double-checked the word "public"--you wouldn't believe how many authors dropped the "ell." "Mortality" was often misspelled as "morality," too.

Let's just say that Spell Check is one of the modern luxuries I never want to live without. There's usually at least one red squiggle word in every post I type, but I go back and fix them before I post. I know the word is spelled wrong, I just often can't recall how it's supposed to be spelled. (Trivia: the word for this post was luxuries. )

relevant - I can never remember whether it has an A in it or not (relevant or relevent)
I even had to look it up before posting this.
I need to find a way to remember..... maybe elephAnt / relevAnt

Commitment For unknown reasons I've wanted a second T lately. The only reason I don't have a problem with this word is because it was our "theme" in Year 12 English. The first thing our English teacher did was make sure we could all spell commitment correctly! Because of course committed and committing have a double-T. Why doesn't commitment?
Sometimes I question if the Refupeas will think I've misspelled a word if I use the non-American spelling. So I hesitate if I use colour, neighbour etc. (usually words with a U!)
Me too! Also for words like realise instead of realize.

Mine is vacuum, and it's "the word" for all of my siblings, too. We blame our mother, who cannot spell to save her life, but always had extra trouble with this one. I kid you not, a couple of weeks ago I saw a sign she put up for the employees in her store where she spelled it "vacuuummn."
