I always go back and forth between broccoli and brocolli, then after I write it a few times trying to decide, they both look all wrong and weird to me.

Necessary.
It's the only word I have to consciously spell in my head as I write.

And because I don't have spell check, they are probably spelled wrong above!

Words ending in "ent" vs "ant". Relevant, diligent, etc. it's a 50/50 shot for me.

I always have to double check separate and sergeant. Shoot, who am I kidding. I have to check a lot of words. Spell check is my friend. When I am typing fast, I tend to spell like I speak and I have an atrocious southern accent and want to spell like I speak. Which means I add vowels, all kinds of endings that aren't supposed to be there and extra syllables. I told my students that separate is a biology word because there is a rat in it I cannot spell misspell

Does anyone else in their head pronounce the word as it's spelled as they write it? Say I want to write "champagne." In my head, as I'm writing, I say "cham-pag-ne."

acupuncture - it's a word I seem to write a lot, I know there's only one c , but I always have to use spell check.

I used to struggle with broccoli until I thought of it containing lots of vitamin C is, double c in the middle. In my work, I often have to type on a laptop linked up to a big screen for everyone present to see my typing and spelling errors. It is pretty nerve wracking. I'm totally going to remember relevant like elephant from now on. I have a notepad I keep beside me with lots of words I often need to double check and use regularly for work.

embarrass; sergeant; cesarean. (The last two I get confused because of the "ea" thing.)

Mine is occasionally (which I managed to misspell once again in writing this.) I always add an extra "i" in there. But I'm so stubborn I once added it to my spellcheck dictionary because I was sure I had it right! And I didn't.
I remember definitely because it has the word "finite" in the middle.

Carrot and surprise. Plus any "ie" words.
And typing this I spelled carrot with one r and two t's and I it weren't for spell check....

Commitment For unknown reasons I've wanted a second T lately. I had to check this one yesterday on voice text before insists it somewhere and then accidentally sent the text. I wanted to add a T as well.

Judgment. I always want to stick an e after the g. I misspelled it on Twitter the other day and someone retweeted it. All I could focus on was the dang misspelled word. I wanted to crawl under a rock.

I always doubt myself with: receive weird definitely unnecessary separate I don't have to look up the spelling of these words because I have a little mind trick to help me remember, but it's without a doubt, I always pause when I type or write those words! For the life of me, I never remember when to use effect vs. affect. I look up the tip every single time and I still can not remember when to use which word. I get it mixed up every time.

public ... forgot the B once on a document at work. Spell check won't catch that one! A school trustee put out an election brochure that touted his support for excellence in pubic education. I laughed and laughed at that one!

surprise. It just autocorrected when I typed it but I usually spell it without the first r. I mean what is that r doing in there anyway?
The other word that I get wrong is cancelled, I just think it looks better with two l's... and I can not spell paraphernalia or rhododendron (there seems like there should be an a in there somewhere) without looking them up.

I can't remember any right now off the top of my head. But years ago, I read so many Harlequin novels that had all the English/Canadian/Australian spellings, that SOME words look more correct to me in that version rather than the American version.
