My abdomen still swells in the area of my c-section. Today I wore some new panties that are a little higher in the front than my normal ones. Hits me just about where my scar is. They were not tight at all, but I still had terrible swelling around the elastic.
Is this normal?
Oh, and my abdomen is still numb.

Yep, almost fifteen years ago, numb around the scar.

Also fifteen years here and yes, I still have numbness and occasional itchiness/puffiness. My sister had my nephew 10 months after I had dd and also had a c-section and has the same thing.

Two c-sections and the last one was 15 years ago. Mine is numb also and it itches something awful sometimes.

It seems I developed a lot of scar tissue and after the second and it is not nearly the nice, neat little fine line from the first But like you said, no one really sees it and my DH says that is like a badge of motherhood to him and he likes it...who am I to argue?

I have an appendicitis scar (lower than a c-section but close) and it is itchy but doesn't swell. It did really p!ss me off for a long time, though. It "hurt" but it is ok now. This was done in 1993.

Is it just your belly that is swelling? I am not really sure what you mean, but if it is something that changes, unless you have endometriosis in your scar, it sounds unrelated to having had a c-section.
Scars will always be numb. All those tiny little nerves are cut. I have plenty of scars and they are all the same with that regard.

All those tiny little nerves are cut. I have plenty of scars and they are all the same with that regard. It is an area about a 1/2 inch diameter around my scar. It quickly goes away after I take off my panties for the night. I have an appointment in June with my gynecologist, so I will discuss it. I have had issues with endometriosis and andeometriosis in the past. I have an IUD now, but it is still a possibility.

My first csection was vertical because the baby had hydrocephalus and his head was very large. My scar is long. He was even delivered with forceps as well. Anyway, my next 2 were bikini cuts. Needless to say, almost my entire abdomen is still numb.

19 and a half years since I had my oldest....who was face up instead of face down, so the back of her head pushed on my tailbone for 3 hours of pushing. Pretty sure she severely bruised, or possibly cracked, my tailbone.
And to this day, depending on the weather and what I'm sitting on, it still gives me grief!
Damn babies.....

Does anyone have hairs that are astray, as is not contained in the rest of the garden? Drive me nuts. and yes, I have numbness from C-section, laproscopic, gall bladder and burns from fire accident in lab. I'm a mess and still wear a bikini, at times.

Never had a c section, but, When I was 5?6? (my sister wasn't born I don't think and I was small enough still) I was in a kid seat on the back of my Dads bike and he hit a rock, and swerved, and my foot swung into the spokes and we crashed. The spokes and road sort of (not for the fainthearted) peeled away the skin and "stuff" along my ankle and the top of my foot. The drs had to kind of pull the hanging strips up and sew them back like a quilt, and I have a lot of scars. To this day (north of 40) the area is numb, and it swells and itches if I wear shoes or sandals that have a strap that hits the area. Mostly fancy shoes- it always happens if I go to a ball or wedding and wear strappy shoes.

Well awesome to know that I'm not alone! Though I'm glad just the one kid out of two was a c-section.

Yes, 12 years since my last c-section and the scar still swells and itches occasionally. The worst is that sometimes it itches on the inside and there isn't a darn thing I can do about that.
