Over the last few months I have been playing along with many challenges, both card making and scrapbooking. Part of the fun of participating is seeing the work of others (kind of like walking around at a crop and enjoying other people's layouts), and also seeing who "wins" the challenge. Once in a blue moon actually being selected as DT favorite or some such thing.
I participated in a challenge back in Feb, and have been watching the blog for the posting of the winners. Mind you this is a blog the advertises "participate so you can proudly display our badge for winning". We are 5 weeks past the challenge close. I politely asked about 2 weeks ago and got the answer "I've been really busy and am several challenges behind in posting the winners". So I've been checking again and they posted later challenges winner, but not the one I participated in. So I politely asked again, the answer "Oh I guess I did forget that one."
Not that I am expecting to win, but I did put a great deal of effort into the layout and was very pleased with the outcome. My feeling is, why should I participate in this particular challenge again? Waste of time checking to see IF they post the winners.
In the big scheme of things I know it is not really a big deal. But with the lack of LSS, crops in my area, and real life scrapping buddies the web and blog scene is a great way to get feedback. Just a little bummed. Thanks for reading! I am sure all of us have similar stories.
My second pet peeve about this is when you don't even have one DT member stop by and comment, even when you have followed all their rules. I do take my time to read the rules. I on 2 DTs and make an effort to comment as requested by the coordinator. If someone takes the time to participate, it is important to give feedback and love on blogs.
