Some reviews said it was cheesy but DH and I both loved it. It's a drama/love story starring Blake Lively, Ellen Burstyn, Kathy Baker, Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones and Nashville) and Harrison Ford. Anyone else see it?

I got to see it a couple of weeks early at a sneak preview. I really liked it too!
I read a review the weekend that it came out, and it was like the reviewer didn't even watch the same movie. More likely, he just wasn't paying attention. He got a few details wrong, even one (which I can't remember now) that he was using to prove a point. I was very irritated. I wanted to yell at him "Of course it didn't make sense when she said ___ because that's not what she said, were you even listening?"

All the kids at the high school who have seen it are raving about it. One kid brought Thor's hammer to school today.

No clue, haven't seen it (or any of the other Avengers or super hero movies) I just know he had the hammer today and they were all talking about the movie. I correlated the two, sounds like it is incorrect?

Did you see my misread title thread? It seems to apply here.

freecharlie - so glad I am not the only one who misreads threads haha. I did see this particular movie, not The Avengers, and I really enjoyed it. I even paid for it and it was worth it. I generally see movies for free because of my son working at the theater but I didn't want to wait for him or make him see it. I thought it was a sweet story and filmed really well. My teen daughter was bored to death.

DH and I saw Age of Adaline last week. We liked it, but found it to be kind of predictable. Also, there is a fair amount of voice over explanation that we both were annoyed by, because it explains things to a degree that assumes the viewer is a moron who can't figure anything out on their own. Also, she has an elderly dog that dies from kidney failure and there is a scene at the vet's office that upset me because I recently lost my cat to kidney failure. As soon as they showed the dog, I knew it would be dying, and there were several scenes of coaxing the dog to eat, etc that I had trouble with.

The voice over didn't bother us but I agree with your spoiler ~ knew it was coming and brought back sad memories.

We saw it and enjoyed it. It was a little slow at points. Some people clapped at the end. Dd and I looked at each other and said, "it was good, no clap worthy!"
