We probably have about 100 shows on the main DVR right now, about 20 shows on the studio DVR and about 50 on the kids' DVR. I upgrade my TIVo and send the old DVR to another room. I don't get rid of them because we paid the initial fee for life, so there isn't a cost for using them now. So they don't have the storage capacity like the new machines, but they are old enough to have paid for themselves and are free now. If your mom living with you is a long term circumstance, I would encourage you to get a TV in your bedroom and hook the DVR up there. I'd need some time away from my family without feeling guilty about watching TV. This is what we do too. We've been with DirecTV for over 15 yrs now so we have dvr's in most rooms. We have a genie in the living room, scrap room and den so they are all on the same storage. We have about 30% free. We have 40+ episodes of The Big Bang Theory, 20+ episodes of Good Eats and the rest is mostly Showtime or HBO movies. We also have the SuperBowl (Seahawks/Broncos) from 2 yrs ago on it, I don't know why I can't delete it, I have it on DVD In my bedroom I have about 20% free. I tape a lot of movies because I fall asleep to them. I usually watch my series within a few days. There are a few things on each box that I can't delete - the finale of Parenthood, a couple of meaningful Glee episodes, etc.

Oh, I'm the absolute worst at this! When I got home from my trip on Sunday I had 1 hour and 19 minutes of recording space available. My DVR holds like 500 hours. I'll say this - I'm 3 seasons behind on Modern Family and Grey's Anatomy. LOL I just DVR a lot of shows that I *want* to watch, I just don't really watch a lot of TV any more. It's a struggle. I usually only delete new shows that I sat up to record, but wait to see if they will 'make it' before I start watching. Then they get cancelled so I just delete them all at once.

ZERO as the cable company replaced our DVR on Sunday. Sad, sad day. It was at about 40% and I will be searching to re-record some the shows.

Too many and we have 2 dvrs. We have 5 NCIS episodes and I can't remember how many of the other series has multiple episodes backed up. I just remember seeing the number on the NCIS. We have been watching The West Wing on Netflix so we haven't been keeping up on most of our shows. We have a total of 92 series set to record on the bedroom dvr and 85 on the living room dvr. There is only 3 shows that record both in the bedroom and the living room and they are Deadliest Catch, Dancing with the stars and Nashville. Those are the shows that come on at times where we are either wanting to be in bed our at work. Dancing with the stars gets watched every Monday. We usually wait until 30 minutes after air time to start watching it so we can fast forward through the commercials and Carrie Ann Inba when she starts annoying us. We have Deadliest in both places because it records when husband is at work and when Dancing with the stars has a Tuesday night show most of the time we will watch them in bed. And Nashville well it comes on at 10 pm usually after husband has fallen asleep and I will not watch it without him. Since it is a show we watch together. There are shows that I like to watch that he doesn't care for and there are shows he likes to watch that I don't like. So we split them up between the bedroom and the living room giving us both shows in the both rooms so we can always have shows to watch. NCIS is a family show so we usually watch it together. Daughter and I have a few shows like Grey's, Night Shift and she will some times watch Chicago Fire and PD with me if I haven't watched them before she gets up in the morning.

So we're talking about how many shows are recorded and piled up, right? Not how many different shows we record? If so, I want to know mire about your DVRs! What company do you have ten through, et.c? My DVR has 26 shows recorded on I right now and I am at 95% full. Almost half are repeats and I don't care if they fall off. I cannot let things pile up very much. I'm very jealous! I'm with you Jackie. We have 42 shows recorded and our DVR is 47% full. We just recently paid a little more to double the DVR space. Maybe that's something you can look into? We are with Verizon but that's here in Maryland, not sure what's available where you are. I can't even begin to imagine having the space to record hundreds of shows. Most I have to admit are mine-since I am recording the full seasons of both, "Call the Midwife" and "Outlander". I'll delete "Call the Midwife" if I have to, and it won't bother me too much because I know one day it'll make it to Netflix. "Outlander" I'm keeping-while I know it's available on Starz on demand, it's not available there in HD, and I want it in HD! Debbie in MD.

None. I don't have a DVR. I live in the olden days... if I miss a show, I miss it. But then I rarely even turn the tv on. Usually only once a week for Survivor.

486,345 hours of crappy disney and nick shows that no one ever watches but the "WILL"!!!!
I have the Good Wife and NCIS on there and I'm several episodes behind, and I can't wait for summer vacation to get here.
If I get behind more than 10 I give up and wait until netflix or amazon has it later.

145 but I just deleted about a dozen. There's so little to watch during the summer, I catch up with some of my favorite shows then.

I had dozens of episodes of the Good Wife and The Blacklist on my DVR to watch later and the hard drive bit the dust.
When I got the new one set up I didn't even re-set the timers. I just quit watching them.

Not much at all it seems. I count about 35, and several of those are games that DH is keeping. I'm pretty good about keeping on top of shows and deleting as soon as I'm done.

Why does she think you were rude? I need time to decompress. That would drive me nuts. Is the tv in the room she is staying in? @me My mom thinks it is rude for me to watch what I want because she is rude and inconsiderate herself. She has a TV with a DVR in the room that she stays in but she prefers to plop herself down in the living room and take over the TV that is in there and subject us to all the junk that she watches. She's with us right now while she is trying to get medical treatment for her knees. We are hoping that she will be going home for the summer so that we all get a break from each other. We ALL need it desperately.
