Since my mom is living with us right now I rarely get a chance to watch TV. So my shows have piled up on the DVR. Right now we have about 320 shows but it is down from around 350. I took off all the reruns and things I knew I would never watch. I'm so behind on Blacklist but I find I need to watch it straight through without interruption to get the full effect and that's NEVER going to happen with my mom around. I think I have 22 episodes of Blacklist. There were some older series on there too that I finally just gave up and deleted because I'll never be able to get around to them. Last weekend I was "extremely rude" as my mom said and I watch 3 or 4 episodes of Grey's Anatomy back to back so I could get caught up. How many shows do you hold onto and how long do you save them before you just give up and let them go?

Probably around 7. I don't like the list too long or it feels like a chore for me to have to watch them all lol!
I do have all the episodes of Friday Night Lights on there. Been on the list for so long but just can't delete them lol.

I will say that we do have a bunch of shows saved for DGD that are not going anywhere. So if you don't count those we still probably have around 200. I clearly need to "force" myself to veg in front of the TV!

We have 100+ recorded shows and are at about 55% space used. Some shows will be deleted before being watched.

Don't know the exact number but have 47% recording space available. We record a lot, and we have slot of our shows as full seasons recorded this year. We will get to turn all this summer.

So we're talking about how many shows are recorded and piled up, right? Not how many different shows we record?
If so, I want to know mire about your DVRs! What company do you have ten through, et.c? My DVR has 26 shows recorded on I right now and I am at 95% full. Almost half are repeats and I don't care if they fall off. I cannot let things pile up very much. I'm very jealous!

Why does she think you were rude? I need time to decompress. That would drive me nuts. Is the tv in the room she is staying in?

I'm not sure, but we are currently at 62%. I probably need to delete some, because I don't know if I'll ever get around to watching them. They are practically whole seasons-Revenge, Resurrection and Better Call Saul. The rest are kids shows and various specials.

All The Middle shows and The Goldbergs. We love those shows and keep them on our DVR. When the DVD season comes out, we buy it and delete the shows to make room for next season.
I also record Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda.

Last weekend I had 9 episodes each of 3 different shows. I am down to only 1 left of one of them. I'll probably end up watching them over the summer when there isn't as much new programming.

55 -20 episodes of Supernatural S10 because I'm only on S6 on netflix and in case I get caught up I wanted to have all of this season -11 episodes of Glee - I'll delete them when I get the DVDs, but I do rewatch them -5 episodes of How to Get Away with Murder - I was totally into it before the winter hiatus, but haven't watched since then (hopefully will get caught up this summer) -6 episodes of The Flash - I need to get caught up! The rest are 1 or 2 episodes of shows that I watch/delete on the weekends if I'm busy during the week

I have a BUNCH of movies that I recorded off of TCM - a lot of my all time favorites that I will keep. I also have 3 separate "folders" for Keeping Up Appearances, Waiting for God and To The Manor Born. I love the British comedies. Wish they would start running Fawlty Towers again! I probably have 50% free space. If I record a current show, I try to watch in a day or two. It's just me so I don't have to worry about other people's shows.

Almost half are repeats and I don't care if they fall off. I cannot let things pile up very much. I'm very jealous! We currently have 345 shows saved. We are really behind because we have been watching so much basketball the last couple of months. We have more than 50 full length movies and the rest are TV shows. I often tape whole series of shows in rerun that I missed the first time around. Right now I have every episode of Parks and Rec and Sports Night saved to watch on nights when my insomnia is bad. I'm a sitcom junkie. We also have 88 kids' shows saved that the grandkids love and watch over and over. We have Dish and are currently at 63% used which is they highest it's been in the three years we've been with Dish. I think we have 2000 hours total available recording time. Love my Dish! Not affiliate with Dish in any way, just a happy customer. Lol.

Haven't counted but it's quite a lot - and we don't even get around to watching the things recorded most of the time....it just seems to be a good idea at the time!

I really don't have any idea. I know I have about 5 or 6 movies taped plus lots of shows that started their season after Christmas. I'm at about 65%. I'll catch up over the summer when nothing else is on

Too many - almost none of which we want. Our dvr has a mind of it's own and is almost constantly recording things we haven't set up. I have no idea how to clear the error though

A lot. I don't think I ever counted how many. All I know is the #1 position is Supernatural because it's my favorite show.

Probably 30 shows but we don't have the storage capacity to save hundreds of episodes either. And i think that your mother, scissorsister7 , was rude to call you extremely rude !

We probably have about 100 shows on the main DVR right now, about 20 shows on the studio DVR and about 50 on the kids' DVR. I upgrade my TIVo and send the old DVR to another room. I don't get rid of them because we paid the initial fee for life, so there isn't a cost for using them now. So they don't have the storage capacity like the new machines, but they are old enough to have paid for themselves and are free now.
If your mom living with you is a long term circumstance, I would encourage you to get a TV in your bedroom and hook the DVR up there. I'd need some time away from my family without feeling guilty about watching TV.

I don't think mine counts shows recorded...?! At any rate, I am always between 60-70% full. I wish my husband and I didn't have that L&O SVU marathon a few weeks ago because we have no episodes to watch currently. I let those pile up and then we binge-watch into the wee hours of the morning.

I only have 3 shows on the DVR. I keep my stuff pretty cleaned off. I watch and I delete. My 15 year old DD is the biggest user of the DVR, though. And I am constantly erasing her stuff. It's like she never gets rid of anything.

We have somewhere between 70-80, most are shows, but there are a few movies. I mostly watch/listen while cooking & doing chores or during my computer or crafting time. So some stay on there for quite a while before I get to them.
Jackie, we have dish network & the dvr we currently have with them allows us 150 hours. Our original one had 99 hours, but when it went on the fritz, they replaced it with this one. I'm glad because now we have enough room to keep recording without having to delete things before we're ready. I must admit that I think we pay too much for their service, but we haven't yet gotten to the point of pulling the plug on it even though we're considering it.

We've got over 300 recorded shows and have 39% space left. My DS makes me nuts. He will record every episode of the old cartoon Rescue Heroes. He's 14!! He's says that's his childhood and he loves them. At one point he had 37 of those recorded.
What is also contributing to ours getting full is the fact that DH is home on medical leave. He records lots of stuff but I'm not sure that he actually knows how to play them back. He's home until at least mid-June. We're going to have to get serious and start deleting some stuff.

We are at about 80% of what we can DVR. Most of those are kid's shows. I have caught up on all of my shows that I DVR for the most part. And DH rarely uses the DVR because he gets the luxury of watching tv shows when he wants too!

Way to many. We have dish with the hopper Joey thing. We are at 71% full with 554 recordings. I like how we can have multiple folders. We have one each for us four in our family, one we named movies for stuff we've recorded when there's free movie channel weekends. The there's s preset one called no folder and another for prime time. I only have 37 in my folder but my 15 yr old son has 325!!!! It drives me batty. I also figure I'll get caught up on stuff again once summer hits cause everything will off again until fall.
