We are going to Georgia next week for Dhs graduation ceremony. We are bringing our 10 and 12 year olds with us. Has anyone been to either of these islands? Which is better for an overnight visit?

Both will be fabulous if you have good weather. You can't go wrong.

What are some great things to do there?

I'm probably not much help, because when I go to the beach, all I want to do is read and lounge and walk on the beach. The quieter and more laid back, the more I love it. It's why I really don't like places like Myrtle Beach.

For just an overnight, I'd do Tybee. Much more laid back and easier to get to the beach. Lots of good seafood restaurants, too!

Go into Savannah for lunch at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House, but be sure to get in line early. It's fabulous! Oh, and ETA, we love HHI and have never been to Tybee.

I have never been to Tybee Island but go to HHI every single summer for1-2 weeks. I LOVE riding my bike on the beach in the early morning. Great shopping and restaurants and you would probably love to go down to the lighthouse in Sea Pines.

I've never been to Hilton Head, but my kids liked touring Ft. Pulaski on Tybee (boys aged 10 and 7 at the time).
