I ordered an Erin Condren planner b/c I was excited about having something prettier and with big spaces for info but now that i'm getting into the websites and whatnot....WHOA! Stickers and tape and whatnot, these things are like mini scrapbooks. When did that happen?
How much decorating do you do with your daily planner? I feel like i'm doing well if I get everything written down and i'm really *really* on top of it if I keep the right colors for the right people.
I'm a pretty planner fail! ha

All I can say is if you get the planner bug you better get a part time job! hahaha. My DD is addicted! Granted most of the stuff isn't all that expensive but she shows me some of the pictures people post and they get like 10 of each package which I think is just crazy. You are right though that its like a scrapbook. After looking at my DD's it is tempting to get one because her's is so cute but I really have no desire to decorate it myself.
It's cute if you get into decorating the monthly page with a picture for what you did that day. If you do something fun they are cute like when she went to the Mystic Aquarium she drew a picture of a dolphin etc.
Have fun with it and let us know if you end up buying one in every color because you became addicted!

I used a hard bound book of graph paper I ordered from Amazon.com for 11.00. I write in the dates myself sort of like the bullet journal method. I decorated the outside (it was just black) and I put washi tape along the edge of each monthly page so they stand out and are easily found. Thats about it right now, but I must confess I keep a blank page or 2 every month to make lists or draw on. If I have a few days where I didnt do anything or big blank spaces, I have been known to draw and color there, too. I like to clip in cards, birth announcements, etc and save them there, otherwise they would probably get stuffed in a drawer, so I guess it does work as a kind of scrap book, too.

My D has an Erin Condren planner, but she just got the planner - no extra stickers or other stuff - and she doesn't decorate it or do much other than write down what she needs to have in there. But even though she doesn't want to make a scrapbook out of it (which is quite possible), she still wanted a pretty, personalized planner.

Oh yeah. People go nuts! Like scrapping but on a smaller scale. For me, it's a good day when I get all my appointments/to-do's in my planner. I have way too much going on right now to even imagine decorating it. I will say that I do use different colored pens, does that count?

I add Washi tape in the sides of the pages when there is a week long event (or several days). I do this for Christmas break from school, vacations, my son's scout camp days, school book fair (I'm the coordinator so that whole week is nothing but book fair!), etc.
I put a pumpkin sticker on Halloween and some Christmas stickers on Christmas.
I've taken some leftover scrap stickers and put on some random pages.
I've also bought a package if 'appointment' stickers. They are small squares and say 'doctor', 'school event', 'lunch', 'coffee'.....they are a small square. I put those on the days that I have one of those events scheduled.
I also use different color ink for different things. Each family member has their own color, I substitute teach so I write my jobs in a different color, family commitments have their own color. That's not really decorating but it looks like a rainbow sometimes!

I don't decorate much but I do do a little. Mostly stamp something then color it in. Also I bought undated pages so i had to fill in each month so I stamped them. I'm headed to bed now but will post a pic tomorrow.

I always use planners, but really don't decorate them. This year I finally bought an Erin Condren one. I do love the pre-printed stickers (I custom ordered some as well), but I'm still a keep it simple girl at heart.

At first glance I read "how much personalizing do you do with your partner?" I'm thinking, how in the world do you personalize your partner? Make him wear shirts that say "I'm with her?" LOL maybe I need to go back to bed!

I have tried to be a pretty planner person, but if can't. I always give up after the first month of school. I do best with my google calendar.

When I first get my new EC planner, I add lots of stickers/ washi tape to birthdays and special days, etc. Not so much after that.

I washi mine, use washi squares on the month page, and I have 4x4 quotes/funny sayings printed on card stock that I use through out. I also incorporate stickers and some things that I buy at Joann's.

Not a bit. I have a plain old Day Runner monthly calendar. The closest I get is using different colored markers. But they don't even signify anything special, they just keep the information written in one square somewhat separated.

None. I use a one dollar, two year paper planner. In my purse. Lightweight. Works great.

I bought some of those once - and decided they weren't the right thing for me, mainly because it had a ton of stickers I would never use and not enough of the ones I would use. I have thought about trying that again - using them on the monthly calendar so I know when looking at it that there is something on the weekly calendar for that date.
Right now I'm using a Franklin planner - and besides the fact that the refill pages I bought are somewhat pretty, I don't really do anything to make it pretty. I have started using different colors for different family members. I was using Flair markers for that, but just realized that the pen I bought with 4 fashion colors is pretty much the right colors, so I just bought another one to keep in my planner. I had bought the original one so I could have a "fun" pen at work. Not that I use it much.
