Sorry if this was asked before and I missed it but do you need the fancy colored pencils or will Crayola do ok? Crayola pencils are just fine! Or kids' markers. You ou can spend big $ on fancy pencils and markers and pens, or you can go with your kids' school supplies. The beauty of coloring is that it is just for you, and you can do it however is relaxing for you. Thanks DH printed me off a few sheets at work last night but forgot them lol. I can't wait to get started.

It has been awhile since I have colored anything. I don't have any books of my own. I would just go through one of my kids books and find a page that I felt like coloring. I use Prang brand crayons for coloring.
When my kids were little, when they were sick, I'd gather color books and crayons and we'd sit in bed coloring together.

My daughter wanted me to post this picture she colored. It is her complimentary flower challenge. She had to do hers with orange and blue.

very pretty, Dori~Mama~Bear! I like how it's not so 'in your face' as complimentary colors sometimes can be. I see she signed / dated it... I need to remember to do that with mine!

Don't you love how you can make these as simple or as complex as you want?

I'm very excited to be joining the coloring group here. I ignored the threads for a while but then curiosity got the best of me and I ordered some supplies. lol My kids LAUGHED in my face... and then proceeded to print their own sheets and "borrow" my markers. Stinkers. I ordered two books (one is backordered, one should be arriving today), the Staedtler fiber-tip pens and started a Pinterest board to pin high-res images to print. I have two I am going to print on cardstock later and work on tonight with the kids while my hubby is at work overnight.

Everyone has done such awesome work. I will have to see if I can take a pic of mine and post them. I'm not near as good as it as ya'll, but I still enjoy it.

So enjoying grown up colouring..... Was going to splurge for a fancier set of markers but opted for crayola pencils/markers/crayons (the biggest boxes I could find) for less. So relaxing

I've had a crazy a$$ week, and I forgot about this thread! Everyone's coloring looks so awesome! I am very much enjoying my own coloring. I've been very stressed out lately with some work crap going on as well as some personal crap, and I have been making myself take some time each morning before work to color. Even it it's only 15 minutes. I'm doing that instead of checking facebook or my email. It really is soothing to me. I haven't finished a picture yet though. I have three going...when I get bored with one, I move on to another. I've got one that is close.
Someone earlier asked where I got that peace sign. I found it on Pinterest when I searched coloring pages. Thanks for sharing everyone!

I did these two this past week: I did these both with Tombow markers. I like this book, because with all the background doodling in the images, you can make the coloring portion as complex or simple as you want and it still looks interesting. This is is the book and Here is the link:

Those are awesome, Elaine! Especially the giraffe...it must have taken forever to color in all those little circles.

The nice part of this book is that you don't really need to be too careful in coloring, especially if you use a blender pen - it all blends together and goes rather quickly. The camel only took 4 evenings, which is somewhat quick for me.

The artist has a free 2015 coloring calendar on her Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ValentinaRamosArt/photos/a.130140483674538.18491.114797828542137/849072691781310/Cool! Thanks for the link. I'll have to download her calendar.

From the calendar link I posted above. May was done with markers, mostly Sharpie, and June with colored pencils (with my poor skills.). Bad lighting with my cell phone in my kitchen, but you get the idea. Attachments:

All of her work is similar - you can make it as simple - one color - or as complex as you please and it all looks good.

I have just bought one of these books, and some watercolour pencils and good quality pens for my upcoming hospital stay. Hopefully colouring whilst listening to my iPod will keep me sane until I can get home again!
