There are so many great little kinds of clips and pins for scrapbooking... fancy little straight pins, decorative bobby pins, clothes pins in so many different sizes, paper clips in every shape and size imaginable.. wee little binder clips.
How do you store them all?

I have a box from Michael's that is the same size as an Iris box but the top layers pulls out and the second layer is divided into sections. Most of what you describe goes in there and it's one of my favourite things to look through while scrapping !

I use clear Artbin bead boxes with a slide off lid for all of that little stuff. They have 25 compartments in each box. For longer straight pins that wouldn't fit in the compartments I would probably stick them into a pincushion, but I don't have any of those.

I have a magnetic board above my desk and I store little trinkety things in tins with a magnetic bottom I picked up from the dollar store. The problem is that the dollar store I got them at stopped carrying! I did find similar tins at M's. They are a bit of a different size, but they still do the trick.

I have Darice bead organizer boxes, they're divided and there's one section that's longer that works perfect for stick pins. I have my buttons in a few and brads and things in another too.

Whatever you do, don't use the sectioned boxes designed for embroidery floss! The lid does not close tightly enough and small things like hundreds of buttons that you painstakingly sorted by color will fly all over the box.
Don't ask me how I know this.

Here's my PSA on this topic. Don't use the cylinder shaped screw together clear plastic bead organizer things, put them all in a big plastic tote, and then have your friend accidentally drop the whole tote on your paved driveway! I would say about 25% of the screw together things broke or popped apart, and I was left sorting out literally THOUSANDS of brads, eyelets and other miscellaneous stuff. It was ugly. And time consuming. Ugh. That's when I switched to the Artbin boxes with the slide off lids.

I didn't think so when I spent the better part of the next two weeks of TV time at night sorting out that mess!

I feel bad 'liking' the posts about spilling the stuff and having to clean up the mess... I hope you guys know that I mean 'I can sympathize and feel your pain' instead of actually 'liking' the fact that it happened to you, lol! For me, I do the Iris box thing-- I have some smaller divided plastic boxes inside the 12x12 box that hold my doo-dads, Flair, wood veneer, shaped paper clips, etc. But that's mostly because I like to sort and rummage when I'm designing my pages, so the Iris box is perfect for doing that. It makes me smile to look through those boxes with the fun little stuff in them!! it gives my little collector heart the warm fuzzies!!

You don't have to feel bad, I'm pretty sure we all knew what you meant! I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was pretty frustrating! I usually know exactly what I want and like being able to go right to the thing I'm looking for without having to sift through a bunch of other stuff to get there.
