I miss my mom every day, but Mother's Day is always the worst. FB is rough. She's been gone 26 years. I am so very thankful I got such a great one who I still feel so strongly about though. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Thank you - its such a hard day. Its been 1.5 years, and while most day I can pull it together, today I cannot.
To top it off, my fathers new wife convinced my boys to go stay with her last night, and she is posting all the "Mothers Day' things they are doing with her on her 'first' Mothers Day. Brunch, Church together, etc. She lives 3 miles away, and no invite, they haven't called, texted - nothing. Just adds to the hurt.

Thank you. I am, and it's been nearly 19 years. It's funny how it can feel so fresh on days like today.

Thank you so much. It's been a a very long time. For the peas who are new to this dreadful club it will get easier each year. Some years are harder than others and some years you might actually enjoy Mother's Day, again. For now, just let your loved ones support you. Honor your mom by nurturing yourself through this day.

It's going on four years here but she had Alzheimer's so it feels a lot longer than that. When you've had an amazing lady for a mother, I don't think you ever totally get over losing her.

Today is the one year anniversary of my Mom's death. Ugh. Miss her terribly, but I am thankful that I am in a much better place than I was not too long ago.

Thanks <3 I lost my Mom last year on September 9th and I miss her every day. She was 89 and lived a good life, but still... We lost Dad back on 1/27/11 at 90 & 1/2 after they had been married 68 years and she missed him so much. As sad as I am that they are both gone, there is happiness that they are both together again.
This is such a tough time of year as Mother's Day is in May, Father's Day is June, Mom's bd is June and Dad's bd is July

Thank you for posting this. It's been a very long day. I lost my Mom in February and I've been dreading this day for a couple of months. I'm not a Mom so I've tried to stay busy all day as if it were any other Sunday, but it's not the same. DH offered to take me out and asked if I wanted to go for a ride on the motorcycle, but I just wasn't in the mood to be around anyone. I really appreciate this post and all the good thoughts from the Peas.

Thank you to everyone for their lovely thoughts. My mum passed away 12 days ago and I still feel like it is not real sometimes. But it is the first thing I think of when I wake up every morning. My mum had dementia too and although there were heartbreaking times, only 4 weeks ago I asked her if she knew who I was. She looked at me with a look on her face that said "seriously??" and said "Corinne" in a very definite tone. ![](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
My mum was such a great mum and as I said in her eulogy " she lives on through us and as long as we keep memories of her in our hearts, she will never really be gone".
I went back to work today and am hoping this will keep me focused on other things and tire me out so I can sleep. I know that time will help, but right now I am still a bit all over the place.
