Originally my basement was set up for my now closed daycare with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. About eight years ago I made it my scrap room with seating for 10. A group of us would get together monthly and scrap. We haven't done that in about 4 years so a year and half ago we partitioned off a part using a very large entertainment center, for my oldest to have a bedroom down there. (My inlaws use the existing room about once a month when they are in town). This past week I downsized a bit more and reorganized everything. I invested in the lidded canvas bins, trays that sit on some of the bins and smaller bins for the re-organization (about 90$). Everything else is repurposed from previous versions of my scrap room. My area is now approx 1/6 of what I originally had and I am much happier. (My shelving is up against the entertainment center and curtain that separates my room from my son's). More pictures in the next post.

Even downsized, you still have a good sized space! Looks really well organized too. Enjoy your new setup!

It looks amazing! Way to go. I know how much work it is. I also downsized. I went from an entire bonus room over a 2 1/2 car garage to an itty bitty bedroom in our new house. And it was a ton of work, but I am MUCH happier in my smaller space as well. Having just the things I love and use around me has made me a much more productive scrapper and I just enjoy it more. And it's so much easier to find things AND to put them away. Thanks for sharing your space with us! I loved peeking into your space!

Wow - that is amazing! I would love to have a room in my house to invite friends over to scrap! scrappington and TracieClaiborne, the last pic was my old scrap room before we partitioned the basement to make a bedroom for my oldest. I hadn't had girlfriends over (life) in a few years so I downsized to room for 3-5 and just downsized again to room for 1-3. We mostly just scrap weekend retreats 2xs a year now.

You have to get a scrap group going again! What an amazing place to scrap! myboysnme, I no longer have the space you see in the last picture. We partitioned off the basement so my oldest can have his own room about a year and half ago. I have about 1/2 that space to work with but downsized even smaller (as per the first pics) last week. I'm setting up a wrapping station in the space I made available by doing so.

Wow, what a great space - before AND after. Good for you. I noticed all of the ATG's. Did you used to provide those for your friends to use?

My sis, sis in law and I all purchased the red ones years ago. They would leave them at my house for our monthly crop. They still reside there. I picked up the pink ones a few years ago because I wanted pink

Great space - both the larger & your newer space.
Where did you get your lidded canvas bins?

Great space - both the larger & your newer space. Where did you get your lidded canvas bins? I got them from a dollar and two store locally. There are four locations and I bought everyone I could get my hands on at every location. I only bought a few at first and when I decided I wanted more they only had a few left in each store. They were $6 a piece. they measure 12x16, I believe.
On some of them I velcro'd matching canvas divided trays, perfect for sorting/storing sortable embellishments/ cards, etc. Those are about 12x14. They have one end one row of 2 compartments, the middle row is a long compartment great for borders, etc, the other end row has 3 compartments. Those were $4. They came from the same store.
Then the even smaller boxes, unlidded came from the same store and were... $1.50 each. I stocked up on those. I make gift baskets and they are perfect for that, too.

I love the U-shaped table arrangement you have-- plenty of room to spread your supplies out when you're in the zone!

Funny, I too share my scrapping space with a bedroom for my DS2! I had to downsize when he graduated college and returned to live with us. I'm hoping he'll find a well-paying job soon so I can spread out again!

Love it, both before and after!
I, too, often find it easier to scrap with less stuff. You wouldn't know that by my shopping habits, though.
