Things have been hectic and I'm scrambling to come up with something nice to give to DD's preschool teachers for an end of the year gift. She has two lead teachers and four paras in her classroom. Since we were gone the week before Christmas and then off for two weeks for winter break after that, so we didn't give them anything for the holidays. I'm thinking I'd like to give each of her two main teachers a few gift cards to different practical places, say, around $15 each to Target, Amazon and maybe an office supply place ($45-50 each total) and a $10-15 gift card to Target or somewhere for each of the paras. (There is a Target store about 10 minutes from the school.) My question is would these be good choices or is there somewhere else you would rather have a gift card for? Or if you were one of the main teachers, would you rather just have one $50 gift card to one place? I was thinking of getting some of the big preschool pencils, diecutting some flowers to slide over the eraser end, and attaching the gift cards to the pencils with a rubber band and sticking some diecut leaves to the gift cards with double stick tape since their end of year project was gardening and the theme for graduation is flowers. Cute or dumb? I need to do something today because the last day of school is Thursday! Nothing like the last minute...

I would do one gc for each of the teachers, probably to a restaurant. For the parapros, I would do $10 gc to Target or Subway or something like that.

The only problem I have with a restaurant GC is that I don't know either of them well enough to choose something I *KNOW* they would like. DH and I got several restaurant gift cards for our anniversary last summer that we still haven't used because we just don't go to those places very often. Or ever.

Of the original things you listed, I would not do an office supply store. Target or Amazon would be fine, though.

One card to Target would be my preferred gift.

I'm not a Preschool Teacher but I'd much rather have a big GC to one place like Target than a few smaller ones. Your flower idea sounds cute!

Thanks for the suggestions. So this is what I did. I found a three pack of $10 GC for Amazon at the grocery store and bought two of those (6 cards). Then I bought two $40 GCs at Target for the two lead teachers. Each lead teacher is getting a Target card and an Amazon card, and each of the paras will get a $10 Amazon card. I think they turned out pretty cute. I'll bring them to school with me on Thursday for their little graduation party. The best part is I used a bunch of super old paper from my stash for the flowers, leaves and envelopes!

I would opt for one large GC and consider a certificate to a spa for a mani/pedi, or either a nicer restaurant.
For the smaller cards I would opt for Starbucks

Teachers will either lIke what they get or suck it up

I'll be the odd man out and say I love your original idea. I'd much rather have a few smaller GCs than one large one to a place that I may or may not go.
I have in my wallet four Starbucks GCs. I love, love, love that I was gifted them, but I don't drink coffee or tea. These will be given to one of my children or kept until Winter when I can grab a hot chocolate. A GC to an office supply store would have been pure heaven for me.

I always love getting a HL or a Michaels card. A preschool teacher could always use craft store gc. If you know the teacher on a more personal level… do that. My son works with an amazing AP science teacher who isn't a teacher of his this year, but she has him in science club and she will be getting alcohol. Most of my teacher friends drink and they like to build up their alcohol stash for the summer.

Today a got a giant box of Godiva chocolates and a lovely star engraved bookmark from one of my fifth graders who was leaving for the summer today. It was engraved- Mrs. T … To the World's Greatest Teacher from your favorite Gabby" I always called her that and didn't realize she liked it so much. I will definitely keep that bookmark

A GC to an office supply store would have been pure heaven for me. See, that's what I thought! I was also thinking it would be cute to do a flower for each card and the main teachers would get a few flowers each in a little pot, but this worked out too and was less work. I'm pretty sure anyone can find something at Target or Amazon. I don't drink coffee or tea either and I have a wallet full of $5 GCs to those places too. I usually end up regifting them, and then what's the point? I would have liked to do $15 Amazon cards for the paras but I couldn't find them anywhere and I didn't want to do a lame email printout thing. I know they work their butts off in that classroom with those kids! Oh well. I'm sure they'll like it anyway.

ETA: This is her last three days of school this week. The grade school in the same building goes until I think June 9th. I wanted to do something a bit nicer for them because if we had been in town the week before Christmas break I would have given them all something then and another smaller gift now. These teachers have gone over and above to make school fun for my girl this year and she loves going to school. All my life I hated school, so I really think they helped get her started with the right mindset and I'm very thankful for that.

Those flowers are so cute! I'm sure that the recipients would love them just based on the adorable presentation!
