I need to purchase this for a user at work. Don't know if I should just buy the package outright or do the monthly/yearly thing. Anyone have some input?
Thanks, Ann

it depends on the user. For me, it works best and is easier to budget the monthly fee. I only need PS and I appreciate the fact that I will always have the most up to date version. I love that I can finally afford to have the real deal, legally and easily. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) If your client has no plans to update the software or it works better for their accounting system to do a one time payment, the out right purchase might be better. It might also be better to buy if they are buying the full suite of software. I haven't done the math on that one. Keep in mind when doing the math that Adobe updates PS and their Creative Suite software aprox. every other year, sometimes sooner.

I don't think you can buy it outright anymore (at least not the most current versions).

Thanks, Ann I don't think you can buy it outright anymore. But, it runs over $600 to buy it outright (last time I priced it for an outright buy) I'm wanting to update but the only option I can find is the yearly subscription.

To buy it outright you would need to find someone selling a previous version. To purchase directly from Adobe, the only option is the subscription service for CC.
ETA - I'm totally wrong! Sorry about the bad info! You can still buy CS6 directly from Adobe - it's just really expensive!

I couldn't find it on their site anywhere, until I googled it. No way would I spend $1300+ for software that is already out of date. That's 26 months of a CC subscription, where you always have the most current version.

My dd is an art major and had to subscribe for school use. It has been great not having to put out hundreds of dollars for software that just has to be updated. They automatically withdraw the monthly fee from her account and she has never had any issues with access or any problems with it.

If you are a student or teacher, you can get a discount on the subscription. I pay $20/month.

Happy birthday to me! I just got my new computer so I haven't subscribed yet, but I need to do it soon. We get access to Photoshop, Lightroom. . . . all the Adobe Creative products for that one fee. I believe my license allows me to use it on either 2 or 3 devices so I can do both my desktop and laptop.
