I have been to three Michaels in my area and NONE of them have any 2-packs of the refills. I buy the acid free for $9.99, but they don't have the General Purpose refill tape either. Hmmmm Joann and Hobby Lobby don't carry the Scotch ATG refills here in MD. Manufacturing problem? Warehouse empty?
I've never participated in a TAPE SHARE...but Im interested now. Anyone have some 411 on that? Thanks!!!

I've been running into the same problem for weeks/months. I finally gave in earlier this week and submitted an order to Tapejungle.com. It was cheaper for the Acid-free tape than Amazon. We'll see how this goes!

I live in Minnesota and my local Michaels and Joanns never has them, either. No one seems to know why, it's so frustrating. I end up ordering them from Amazon. The acid free ones are close to $9, I think.

I am having the same problem. I just ordered some from JoAnna online when they had the free shipping a few days ago.

I have had the same problem off and on, too-- I've finally gotten to the point that I will grab one when I see them in the store (and have a coupon to burn), whether I need one or not.

Aaron Brothers carries them and that's where I get mine (with the 50% off coupon they are always sending out).

I got tired of trying to use coupons and/or having them not in stock at Michaels or JoAnn.
I buy all my adhesives on Amazon.

I usually buy a 6 month supply from tape jungle for around $27 with free shipping. I've been doing this for a couple of years with no complaints.

I buy 12 rolls at a time from the tape depot and it's $26 and change with shipping.

I buy 12 rolls at a time from the tape depot and it's $26 and change with shipping. That is a great deal! I have been making memory books for my kids at school and I got through a roll for every 2 pages (x 24 books). I think that will be 8 rolls.

The ironic thing for me is they are made by 3M, which is based in Minnesota. I have found them at Crafts Direct in St.Cloud, but not at Michaels or Joannes.

My Mikes hasn't had refills in forever and as previously mentioned above, the larger purple is clearances thought the pink one is not. The Joanns near my house carries the acid free ones but it is very hit or miss if they have them in stock. I will have to check some of the places that have been shared in this thread.

OK, thanks for the advice!
One more check last week at Michaels and nothing. I asked the manager and she checked the computer. Nothing in stock in the warehouse either.
So...I just placed an order at tapedepot.com. Trying the 1/4"x36 yards. 12 rolls ($2.22 per roll) Acid Free. Total was $26.64. No tax unless you are in FL I guess? No shipping charge.
I hope I like the tape as much as my Scotch 2 packs from Michaels. Seems like the way to go since it's cheaper than a 50% coupon!

I like the ones from Tape Depot. One thing, save an empty tape spool from your 3M Refills and put the empty spool on TOP of your full spool when you put your new refill in. Trust me, it works better! The tape stays right on the edge of the roller when you are rolling it out on the item you are adhering the glue to. What I like best is the Tape Depot tape doesn't have the awful chemical smell the Acid Free 3M refills have.

But I go through it like water, so I can't afford the 3M refills all of the time. I've been using a thick piece of chipboard that I cut, but it's just about worn out.

I buy 12 rolls at a time from the tape depot and it's $26 and change with shipping. That is where I buy also. When I run out I'll have to go running to M's or HL because I never remember to order more BEFORE it's gone, but I have the same problem as the rest, it is hit or miss. Last time it was miss - M's double checked for me and confirmed they didn't have any left in stock. My HL was carrying ATG products for a couple of years but apparently quit carrying it again. Luckily the Tape Depot ships quickly.

Definitely hard to find! My Michaels has a an empty spot fir them. Always empty!! I thought they were maybe discontinuing the pink one, but this week I saw they had restocked them and the regular tape (the acid free was empty). So with they sold out that quickly or didn't ever have it back in stock.
I order it on Amazon which sucks because no 40% coupons!!

I buy mine from scrapbookpal.com, and I save $3 per package there for the acid free. I have been buying from them for years. I have a nice stash.

Weird, my Mikes has them but for a long while they were out of the pink tape but had it for the purple gun.

I was at a paper store today and was talking to the clerk. I asked her if they had the refills as there weren't any on the shelf with the guns. She said they keep them behind the counter because they were being stolen like crazy. She also mentioned that a customer that also worked at Mike's said they weren't stocking them because the theft rate for them was so high. So that may explain why we can't find them.
