I don't get massages so I'd probably be thinking, "Stop touching me!" Ha ha ha! This, exactly! I hate having people I don't know very well in my personal space.

Does the idea of oily hands skeeve anyone else out?! After I apply lotion, I can't wait to wash off the lotion on my palms and between my fingers. Yes, me. I hate having lotion on my hands. It makes my iPad all greasy! Ick. I get really scaly skin by my carpal tunnel scars so I have to put it on at night right before I go to bed or it grosses me out.

I am usually so in the zone that I almost doze off ~ and have for a few seconds. When I go to my semi-annual scrapbooking retreat she brings in a massage therapist and I get one late Friday night. Soooo relaxing. We used to have a woman who was in her 70's but she was amazing. She was a former nun and then a nurse. She would swaddle you with warm towels like a baby and you would want to beg her to tuck you into bed after the massage.

I don't think, I experience and breathe into the pain. (I like a deep tissue massage) Some have really hurt! I go for shoulder and my neck, with PT. It's nice at the end but when they pound on you not so much! When they start working the sore stuff. It's a little painful but the 2nd one I can relax a little more and can doze off.

I don't think, but I follow my mind wherever it goes. I find that tons of old memories get released when I'm having a massage. I'm always fascinated by them, especially if they were not connected.

After seeing Phoebe bite a client I hope when I had the male massage therapist that he wouldn't bite me.

I've only had a handful, but I literally waste the first 45 minutes worrying about what I *should* be doing instead of treating or spoiling myself. About the time time I relax and start to just zone out, time's up. When we went to the beach last year, BFF and her DH went with us. She and I went for a massage and I swore I kept hearing my phone go off in my purse across the room. I worried the whole damn time what was wrong and who was calling/texing me and why. When I finally got up I found my phone had never gone off at all. I pretty much ruined it for myself. I simply can't relax anymore. It was a Saturday at the beach and my entire family was there for Pete's sake. I have a GC for a massage given to me by the swim team (team mom) that I haven't used yet. I'm planning on using it after graduation and our big party and our guests leave. I'm going to need it and I really hope I can relax and enjoy it.

I think naturally oily hands would be gross. But I love to get massages. Having the right masseuse makes a difference, I have learned. My girl is awesome. We usually chat for the first 10-15 minutes, then she puts a heated rice bag thing over my eyes and it is like covering a bird cage - I get quiet immediately. I mostly let my mind drift the rest of the time, and focus on how good it all feels.

I've never had a massage. I have issues with people touching me, ESPECIALLY people I don't know.

I really try to focus on the sensation. I feel like I've wasted 100 bucks if I don't really enjoy it. When my mind wanders, I drag it back. Yup, me too. Exactly.

Ha ha ha! This, exactly! I hate having people I don't know very well in my personal space. I am the same way. I call it my three foot circle. In fact, I have a dental appointment this afternoon which I am dreading simply because I do not want to be that close to the dentist and his assistant. They are both nice guys but ickkkkkkk I do not want them in my face. wahhh I'm right there with you, @kelkeller! Although I think my circle is more like 9 feet, lol. The mere thought of being touched by someone whom I'm not married or closely related to makes me beyond anxious. I can't stand it. Massages, pedicures, the dentist...heck, I don't even like getting my hair done. L

The only thing I try to think about is how much I'm enjoying it. Sometimes I wonder if they notice my stubbly legs. Oily palms would be gross!
