I went looking for a roller adhesive for a friend, but I really wasn't sure which ones stick well. I have used Tombow before. It seems alright. What about Scrapbook Adhesives? Is that brand ok?
Which do you use that holds well? Thanks...

I have used American Crafts adhesive, and the reformulated Herma adhesives seem to be good

I like the ones by 3L, aka Scrapbook Adhesives. They're strong but I can move stuff if I've changed my mind in placement as I scrap, unlike with ATG tape (once it's down, it's down).
I'm also left handed and I hated the ATG with a firey passion. Ha. Does not work for me but I guess other lefties have made it work. I just couldn't make it work for me, even after trying and trying and really wanting it to work!

I have it, and the tape "rides" on the other side of the roller. My mother is left-handed and prefers to use this one. ATG 50 It's orange, but I painted it blue. The price is really good too, and they have free shipping for it. Now, back to the OP's original question. I like Tombow and 3L Adhesives.

I use Tombow, but am not thrilled with it. Mostly use it because I can get the refills cheap at M's with a coupon. I prefer the American crafts adhesive in the pink refill, but harder to find and more expensive.

I love the 3l runners. I've never had an ATG. I've tried them but I don't like the size of them. But, I have friends who wouldn't use anything else.

I use the Glue Glider Pro and overall I'm very happy with it. Every once in a while I'll get a roll of adhesive that somehow doubles back and sticks to itself, but it's not that often. We've (my pal & I who both use it) contacted the company and they promise to replace them, but we're lazy and haven't done it yet. I'll report back when we do.

Glue Glider Pro I get refills with my 40% coupon at HL.
I have no interest in getting/using an ATG.

Almost exclusively Herma Dotto. The cheapest refills I've found are from scrapbookpal.com

Thank you ladies.
I did not find the Herma adhesive, or AC brand, and she certainly does not need a Glue Glider Pro. I got the 3L Scrapbook Adhesives. So glad I was able to use a coupon. Me? I love my ATG...lol
ETA: Correction. Now that I have googled the Herma Dotto, I stand corrected. I might have seen those at Hobby Lobby, but the there was a woman with boxes , a scrapbook, and her sprawled out, blocking the whole aisle. She did not even make an attempt to move while I was trying to look at adhesives right next to her. She was sitting on the floor spread-eagle looking furiously at her phone. Who does that? My first thought was to say excuse me, and sort of slightly kick her boxes out of the way, but I decided to be nice and went around. (they were photo boxes for sale at HL, not her own boxes)

I hoarded CM tape runners before they went out of business. They're still my favorite, but I'm almost out, and I'll probably switch rather going down the CM road again. Lots of new ideas to try here.

I use a double sided tape from a company called Sellotape, it is really cheap, easily found where I live and it has amazing stick, the thing I dislike about it is the time consuming cutting and peeling of the backing, lets face it tape runners are super convenient time savers.
I have tried so many different types of adhesive but price point most certainly comes into it hence why I don't have an atg, those things and the refills are pricey in Australia. I live in Queensland and it gets really hot here and I swear that the humidity does something to adhesives so seeing as I have found one that works for me I am sticking to it.

I use Home & Hobby E-Z Runner Grand Dispenser (manufactured by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L) - they are similar to the ATG roller but they're cheaper ($19.99) and refillable. I threw my ATG roller out after getting this E-Z Runner Grand...much lighter in weight and I can get the refills at Hobby Lobby (and maybe other big box stores in the U.S.?)...with a coupon No more trying to find friends to pay for bulk and shipping! LOL!! I'm linking the page/image so you know what they look like: www.archiversannex.com/p/86497/home-hobby-e-z-runner-grand-dispenserGood Luck with finding your choice!

I use the Tombow mono adhesive but don't think it's as good as it used to be. Current refills keep sticking to the dispenser and stopping rolling.

Being a leftie, I struggle with my ATG too. I also like initially repositionable adhesive so my ATG doesn't get used much. Thanks for the suggestion of the ATG 50.

Herma dotto girl here, and I also get the refills at scrapbookpal.com. Or use my coupons at HL and M's. I use the repositionable for layouts, and the permanent for mini-albums/crafting. I also have and use the pink AC this-to-that tape runner. I keep finding it for so cheap I can't resist at closeout stores like Tuesday Morning, TJ Maxx and even Burke's Outlet. I was gifted an ATG gun and I do like it, though it tends to be the last thing I reach for when I need adhesive. It's a good strong bond. Just very large on my desk.

Thank you ladies for the input. Next time I need to buy another non-ATG adhesive I will have several options to choose from. No one likes to spend their money on stuff that doesn't work.

No one uses my favorite. I use the Scotch DOTS. I like DOTS because I can easily remove them by rubbing over them with my finger. I can't use photo splits and tapes.

I use the red DUCK brand runners. I get them cheap at the big box stores. I have used Duck brand in the past with good results. I thought I read that it was reformulated and wasn't working as well, so that is why I did not consider it. Good to know it still works good.

I use the Tombow mono adhesive but don't think it's as good as it used to be. Current refills keep sticking to the dispenser and stopping rolling. Same here.. I use the dots and I have to pull on the tape to get it to roll and then I'm left with a very long somewhat sticky tape "tail"...kind of like the old CM ones. I thought it was because the one I had was old (haven't scrapped in years and only intermittently used it for other projects) so I went out and bought a new refill and it just happened to me as I scrapped my first page in eons! So I guess I'm going to research what others have recommended! yep! I'll have to look for this one, thanks
