It is a long weekend here in Canada, and DH wanted steak sandwiches tonight.
So I took the time to make a roasted garlic aioli, and carmelized some onions. And I marinated the fast fry strips all afternoon.
Crusty ciabatta buns, spread with the aioli, topped with the meat, onions & cheddar, quick under the broiler for a couple minutes.
Yum!

@carblover443-Can I please give you one piece of advice, because I'm sure your inundated and sick of advice, anyway? When you go to the store to buy the travel system grab everything else you need and didn't get at your shower including a few bottles, if you need them. Even if you breastfeed you'll want bottles. Babies arrive on their schedule, not yours and it's nice to have everything in place, so that you don't have to do last minute stuff after baby arrives. What an exciting time for you. We had chicken tenders and rice. I didn't make a veggie. Does this mean I lose my housewife card?

I'm in the camp where I'd rather not reinvent the wheel and want to hear from others who have BTDT! We did get a breast pump already and I do have bottles on the registry. I'll be going back to work after 12 weeks so they will def be needed. I'm trying to keep my wits about me as I go through the shower gifts and return excess, etc. it's all just so dang cute! But really, I don't need 8 hooded towels, right? 5 is enough? And of course, I love each one and don't want to return any of them! Lol

Is there a reason why you make two separate meals? they both sounds delicious but it seems like so much extra work to make two complete dinners instead of everyone eating the same thing

linda I had gastric bypass surgery three years ago, and since then I don't like meat very much, so I prepare something separately for myself. Plus, I tend to eat the same thing for weeks at a time.
