Series finale last night. Happy and sad. Happy for Fred, so, so sad for Patsy. I was happy when they got their little apartment and then for the accident to happen the same day they moved in... Glad that Trixie is getting some help.
However the biggest jaw dropper was when Dr Turner told the nauseous pregnant woman he gave her Thalidomide!!!!!! I wonder if they will carry that story line next season. There is rarely a unhappy outcome when it comes to the babies. I can't imagine the series will have babies being born with horrible deformities. Anxious for next season.
And Mr Selfridge was a good finale as well, hope that comes back. At the end of Selfridge they had a sneak preview of shows coming this fall. They all look so good.
I love PBS!!!!!!

I loved that show, and I don't know what I'll do on Sunday nights until Spring 2016.

I know what you mean, and the mom was going on and on about how she was going to tell everyone about the wonder drug. How sad that they had no idea at the time of the problems that the drug would cause. I was feeling so sad for Trixie - I just love that character and think the actress doesn't get enough credit - she is really good! The season doesn't last long enough though - I can't believe it is over already!

I'm one of those women who rarely cries when I watch movies, plays, or TV shows. I got emotional when Patsy's girlfriend (I'm the worst at remembering names) didn't know her. Fred and Violet are adorable. I think Trixie has became my favorite character this season. So nice to see Chummy! Wish she were in more episodes this season. I really like the new nurse this season who took care of the woman with hypermesis (yes, I know that is spelled wrong). I thought the same thing when Dr. Turner prescribed the medicine! A quick thought of, wait wasn't that stuff bad? Babies died and others born with deformed limbs? Should be interesting. I also got emotional watching The Middle this week and seeing Sue graduate. My dd is so much like her!

Why do I watch a show that makes me cry every doggone week?! The deaf mom, the "wonder drug", "Do you have many friends?", Trixie's breaking down and getting help all got me tearing up. I will miss it!

I was very sad for Patsy and her girlfriend, especially for Patsy. They waited so long and then they finally got their apartment together. One sweet night together, and then Patsy says, "Take my bike" and disaster. I can imagine she probably blamed herself for that accident for that reason-I was so upset when her girlfriend (I can't remember her name either) couldn't remember her, and then her mother said they were taking her back to Wales.
I had the same shocking feeling remember that medication name when Dr. Turner mentioned it- "wait, wasn't that the one that caused all of the defects-oh no!"
I had no idea that last night was the end of the season-how sad. You are right-the season doesn't last nearly long enough. Can't believe it's over already.

Thank god it was not used here in the US...can't remember the doctor's name (female) that made sure it was taken off the market here.

christine58 it was used in Canada. I have a cousin who passed away as an infant as her deformities were too sever to survive. Very sad for my aunt as this was her only daughter after 5 boys, Annette

I'm so sorry this happened to someone in your family.

Interestingly enough, the person responsible for not approving the drug in the US was a Canadian woman....she had a remarkable life considering the obstacles she had to overcome during the era! dr Francis Kelly

Just caught up, thought it was a good episode. I was sad about Delia and Patsy. I wonder if the Thalidomide storyline will continue to next season. I agree, the actress who plays Trixie did an amazing job.
