DH left for a guy's weekend (mid-week?). DD was running a fever of 102* last night, so I had to keep her home today. I found this afternoon that the kitchen sink is leaking. And I'm missing my Mo-dog. Enough, already! /vent

I'm sorry, that's a lot to deal with all on your own. Can you at least put a bucket under the sink until DH comes home and let him deal with it? Tomorrow will be a better day.

I'm sorry, I know how it goes. DH travels fairly often for work and that is always when things break, without fail! I get so mad sometimes. I usually try to fix it myself or at least temporarily until he gets home. The worst is having to call someone, but sometimes it's the only way. Put a mixing bowl under there while cursing him under your breath. Hope DD is better soon. I'm sorry about your pup

I'm sorry. I m having one of those days myself...I MUST go to the grocery store (I have to make a dessert for tomorrow,) but my car won't start. Once it gets started, I need gas-but I lost my debit card and have no cash. The boy isn't home today so I can borrow his car to get to the bank to get cash, so I can call AAA to jump start the car who will then need gas so I can go to the grocery store and then to the mechanic. All that because I think there is something wrong with the fuel pump. Which will also need tending to. Oy. Funny how it works that way, right? I will commiserate with you...

Hoping your DD feels better soon. It always seems like whenever I really, really need his help with something is the one time my DH isn't around. He's home almost all the time ready and willing to help me in any way he can. He goes away and BAM! something happens.

Awe. I'm sorry. I think it's the Mo-dog thing. The week I lost my Zoey beagle my kitchen sink got clogged up (as in, we needed to call a plumber clogged up.)
Of course, my DH was at work and wasn't due home until late. I ended up standing there with a sink full of water & garbage and sobbing uncontrollably. Ordinarily, I'm more likely to get a wrench and a bucket and open the drain myself. But it was on the garage disposal side and it all just overwhelmed me. DH changed out of his suit at close to 11 o'clock at night and bailed out the sink and called the plumber in the morning.
Hope your DD is better soon.

Oh dear, (hadn't realised it was nearly the weekend already ) Just try to remember not to empty the bucket of water down the sink. BTDT.

It goes like that for us too. Hope things will be looking better soon!
Anytime DH is out of town for a few days running something *always* seems to hit the fan. Last time he was gone for a week, there was a bad rain storm and the power went out for four days. I had no power, no water (so no power = no well pump), and no means to cook (electric stovetop, oven and of course microwave). We couldn't open the refrigerator or freezers. Oh, and did I mention that I had all three dogs and my three year old here to take care of?
I was just glad that I had the forethought to not dump DD's bath water that night of the storm so at least we could bucket flush the toilet, and that the neighbor came by with a generator that he let us plug our freezers in for a few hours at a time a couple times so we didn't lose everything.
