Really should not be posting on this thread, because i have tried things. But I do not drink alcohol, smoke, or take illegal drugs. This is because I do not like them. I absolutely despise having anything in my lungs - inhaling anything at all. I hate the taste of alcohol and it makes me feel sick.
I do not use those things not because I wouldn't, but because I dislike the taste too much. So trying once or twice to me is just a step above not using at all, especially as compared to friends I have had who did everything underthe sun.
My Dh has never smoked or done drugs at all.

My parents smoked cigarettes, so I had no interest in those. I did try a cigar once, while drinking ... it didn't end well  Never did drugs. Just didn't want to lose control like that. But did drink a lot (gin, vodka) in my late teens and early 20s. Rarely drink wine or liquor now. Have never liked beer. |

I never snuck out of my parents house. I have never lied to my parents about where I was going or who I was going with. I have never used illegal drugs. I have never smoked. I did not drink adult beverages until I was 38. Now I do enjoy a glass of wine once a week. I'm married to one man for 23 years. We have a great life and I don't feel like I missed out on any thing. I will confess to really enjoying the few doses of Dilaudid I got when I broke my knee. If I were going to use, that would be my drug of choice. Funny you say that about Dilaudid. When my husband was in the hospital 3 years ago they gave him that for his severe pain. He had never had it before and when they put it in his IV the thought he was dying. No joke. He actually grabbed his chest with one hand and my hand with the other. To this day he says that is the closest he has ever felt to leaving this world! lol |

Nope, never used drugs or smoked. I grew up in the late 60s, early 70s, and it drives me nuts when you hear people saying "everybody smoked pot or did drugs during that time". Not me! My parents and my brother smoked cigarettes and I hated it. Yuck!

I've never tried drugs, I smoked a cigarette once in college about as effectively as Sandy in the Grease sleepover scene:). I wished I liked wine since a drink or so a week is supposed to be so good for your health. My vices are coffee and chocolate- and chocolate coffee:)

Nope, never tried illegal drugs, never wanted to. Cigarette and cigar smoke make me SO sick so I've NEVER even thought of trying smoking. I don't even drink cokes, coffee or tea because caffeine makes me so sick at my stomach. And I must have gotten sick drinking a little whiskey when I was THREE!  My father was sick and made himself a hot toddy with whiskey. He gave me a tiny sip, I must have liked that because my mother later found me sitting on the floor in front of the kitchen cabinet where she had put the whiskey. I had drunk some of the whiskey. It must have made me sick because I can't even tolerate the taste of the alcohol in Nyquill! I avoid legal drugs as much as possible and have no desire for illegal ones. One of my sister's did enough for both of us which is why she died over 3 years ago. She ruined her health and her heart by doing too many things, drinking too much, legal/prescription and illegal drugs and ruined her life and much of her husband's. |
