We usually do a barbecue for Memorial Day weekend and I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I've been so busy between working from home and all the end of the year stuff for the kids, I haven't even started thinking about what to serve yet! I am thinking: -Hamburgers -Hot Dogs -Steak (we have some left from a gift I received from Omaha Steaks... I wasn't too thrilled with the rest of the food I got from them, so I am not expecting a whole lot) -Buffalo Chicken Sausage -Taco Salad -Corn on the Cob Dessert may end being brownies from a mix because that's what I have on hand and it doesn't take too much effort! What are you going to be grilling/cooking/baking?

We usually grill but I am not sure we will this weekend. We are going out for DHs birthday Saturday, Sunday hubby is watching multiple races and Monday I think we are going to a baseball game.
We have steaks in the freezer or chicken or sausage so maybe one of those on Saturday. Your menu sounds good.

I'm still refining the menu, but so far it is this:
Hawaiian ribs Flank steak Caprese pasta salad with avocado Sangria
I need at least one dessert and another side.

We're expecting over 5" of rain by Monday night, so our grilling plans have been put on hold. I'm so tired of the rain & having 4 kids 3 & under stuck inside all day! Remind me of this in August when it's 100°+ & all the grass & flowers are dying!

I'm not cooking! My husband and I have had the honor of being asked to place the wreath for the Victims of Agent Orange at our Little Flanders Field Memorial Day service. After the ceremony there will be a nice lunch at the VFW. They always put on such a nice meal and I look forward to it as well as the camaraderie of being with the Veterans memorializing the loss of their fellow service members. Someone always makes the most amazing sugar cookies for these events! How crazy is it that I am looking so forward to cookies? LOL

I'll be the cook at DD's lake cabin this weekend and have some oddball requests from my grandsons Saturday night they want me to make egg rolls and sweet and sour sauce. I'll make the sauce and the egg roll filling tomorrow and put everything together Saturday evening. I usually put someone in charge of deep frying them out on the patio. Because no matter what I serve they only eat egg rolls, I'm making 30 of them and no sides. Works for me Sunday night we're having steak and baked potatoes. Younger grandson likes his steak cut into chunks, breaded and deep fried so I'm making some of the steak that way. He also likes a sauce the local steakhouse serves with shrimp to dip it in. I've got their recipe so I made that this afternoon. The boys wanted ice cream sandwiches made with the vanilla bean ice cream I made awhile ago and homemade chocolate chip cookies for around the fire at night. I plan to bake the cookies and make the custard for the ice cream tomorrow. Breakfasts will be pancakes and bacon, butter braids or whatever you want to fix yourselves. Lunches will be cold cuts, potato salad and macaroni salad, baked beans, chips, etc. i've got all the groceries and if I spend the day in the kitchen tomorrow I'll get to relax most of the weekend. My SIL bought a new pontoon so I may have a few adult beverages too

Sunday is the Indy 500 and we always make carne asada/flank steak, rice and beans with warm tortillas and avocados, plus homemade salsa, salad, fresh fruit, pan dulce and a couple of cold beers.
