I haven't scrapped in forever...going on a retreat end of the month...no idea what to prepare to work on.
I need to print pics and gather supplies and make pages kits, need PL catch up, really need a few cards for upcoming birthdays...

It does seem like a lot of work when you're not in the habit of doing it, doesn't it? I have a couple of things I'm in the middle of right now. I started a mini album using The Pier collection and I love what I've done so far - just haven't found time recently to get more done. I also have pictures from a special ice cream place my family used to go to and I know I have the perfect paper to go with them somewhere in the depths of my paper pile. I just need to find it. But, like you said, it seems like too much work.

It can be tough getting back into the swing of things after taking a break. I just gave up trying to make my own kits as I am too pressed for time these days with 3 kids, 2 not at school yet! I just use pre-made kits (currently Studio Calico, but I have tried heaps of them!) and I have a large stash of Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me embellishment kits as well. I usually use those as a jumping off point and then add from my stash as needed. I keep everything in large plastic storage boxes (like an Iris container) on my desk so I can just pull a kit out and go, this helps as I have no permanent scrap area. I keep a couple of kits all ready to go until I use them up or get bored with them. If you want inspiration on making your own kits from your stash Nicole Mackin on You Tube is great for that. Here is a link to her channel: Nicole Mackin You TubeI think it depends on what you are most inspired by: products, photos, stories, sketches? Start with what inspires you MOST and work from there. So, if you have a pile of photos you want to get done get them edited and printed (if necessary) and then make up page kits that would go with them...if product inspires you more get your kits together and then choose photos that work with those products. The thing I hate most is photo editing, but i found pic monkey online (a free website wit a built in photo editor) and it makes things heaps easier not to mention it is free. There is a pay option, but you don't need it at all unless you want heaps of effects. As to what I am making...just layouts, always layouts lol. I rarely do minis anymore. I post my pages in the gallery here, so you have probably seen my latest stuff. Good luck! I can't wait to see what you make.

Less digging through boxes that way Then you can pick some pics are go! I hear you on tired; I am always tired lol! Congratulations on your graduation that is a wonderful accomplishment. The prep for scrapping is the hard work, for me anyway, once you sit down and just do it you can enjoy yourself!

Working on organizing here too. Today I spent a good amount of time cleaning up my mess from the scrapping rummage sale I was prepping for the last couple weeks and then helped DD clean up the massive mess that she made while I was working on my stuff and couldn't actively corral her at the same time. I made the cutest paper pieced castle invites for her upcoming princess birthday party but didn't go all out and chalk them or anything. I figure they'll just get chucked in the trash once people are done with them. Thank God I only had to make 7-8 of them (an extra for her scrapbook). We have other party decor stuff to work on in the next couple weeks so I needed my tables cleared off to have some room to spread things out. She said she wants to make a 6-7 foot tall drawing of Rapunzel's tower to hang on the wall for the party and I'm inclined to let her.

I've just been working on real random stuff. I completed a page with a few of my Mom's old bowling league team photos's from the early 70's. That one made me think of the thread awhile back about "what could you scrap from your stash" because I actually had a miniature set of pins and a bowling ball. I've also scrapped a two pager about one of my dogs and a single page layout featuring my DS new truck. So kind of all over the map I guess but I find I like it that way sometimes. I can get bored of a project that goes on too long....UGGHH like my last Disney trip that morphed into a double album!

I have a big crop next weekend. 6 hrs Friday night and 13 hrs on Saturday.
I'm trying to pack well.
I'm really looking forward to it though.
I have been scouring pinterest trying to decide what to make.
I have the attention span of a nat and also the slowest scrapper ever. So I need a few different projects.
My issue is I love techniques. SO I will have a ton of ink, and or tools.
I do love this hobby but sometimes I think cross stitching would be easier to travel with.
Also we won't have wifi so I won't have pinterest what have you.
This weekend as I'm reorganizing my room and cleaning it up I plan to pack.
The good thing is the crop is close to home so I will be coming home Friday night and I can bring something back on Saturday morning.
My plan is to get set up on Friday night and I have one planned project. Also I will be dealing with my dies storage and organizing them a bit.

I am struggling with photo overload! I have been editting/formatting pictures from last summer to upload to costco (they had a print sale), but that's summer camping hallowing school christmas 3 birthdays thanksgiving etc. etc. worth of pictures, and I take toooooooo many. It takes away from scrapping mojo! But it also inspires story telling Maybe instead of starting with the idea of "scrapping" you could grab some pictures which really interest you, and start from there?

I have been working on scrapping our trip to Alaska last summer. I really need to get this done because I want to have tons of journaling and I am quickly forgetting the little details that were so important at the time. I took over 3000 photos in the 24 days we were there. I know I can't scrap all of them so I'm going really simple LO's with lots of journaling.
I would choose something fun to scrap and go from there. I usually scrap chronologically and I am in 2004 and losing interest. So I decided I wanted to scrap something fun!

I'm working my way through my 2014 PL album and challenging myself to actually use my supplies rather than horde them. I have to remind myself that if I really love a product, it's better to use it and put it in an album instead of trying to "save it for something special someday" and have it sit in stacks and never get used. So far, so good!

I am not working on a particular project, just grabbing the photos I have organized and working whatever I feel like.
I always put my scrapping photos in manila envelopes ready to go by the occasion or event.
I'm mourning the upcoming temporary loss of my scrapbook area! I have to pack everything up this weekend for the new flooring install in two weeks. I usually scrapbook for an hour each evening, so it's going to be tough, but worth it.
Enjoy your retreat, OP.

I'm working on clearing out my craft room, selling/donating and organizing. My room has become overwhelming and just too much. In my spare time, I've been sbing with the PL app. Love it! I don't have to get anything out, make a mess, hunt around forever for that "one thing" that I can't find because my room is such a mess.

I have a layout of DH & DS that I put together last weekend - needs adhesive and journaling. Thought I'd have a little time this week to finish it, but haven't yet. Then, I need to keep tackling the random pics I have printed and piled on my workspace. I have banned myself from printing more pics until I get them scrapped (I tend to get most inspired by recent pics).
I'm failing miserably at PL - but I am still plugging away on my 2014 book and am determined to finish and evaluate whether I'll continue. So, want to get back to that.
Have a couple of long weekend crops this summer that I could start making some pic + supply kits for. I avoided doing any crops over the summer, but I really enjoyed the one I did last summer so I am going to fit them in. The girl's weekend is almost as much fun as the scrapping!
I seem to rotate between card-making and scrapping, and I think my card phase is over for awhile. About time, I miss scrapping!

I am working on a vacation album from last summer. I also need to get photos printed. I've gotten way behind in getting them printed and it's been driving me crazy. It's the one thing I've always tried to stay current on.

I'm getting ready for a three day Weekend Memories scrap retreat in VA next weekend. I'm scrapping 2003 pictures and the next bunch include a vacation to Hilton Head SC, so I'm excited to break into my travel/vacation Iris case where I've been collecting all matter of seaside/summer embellies and ephemera etc. Some of the older papers I'm looking at using are We R Memory Keepers Down the Boardwalk, Carta Bella Beach Boardwalk, American Crafts Shoreline and Crate Paper The Pier. Fun! Can't wait!

I'm going on a 3-day crop next weekend, so this weekend (oh, who am I kidding - this whole week) will be spent power layouting & packing for that.
I like to keep things varied, so I have some layouts of a beach vacation from 2012, some misc. layouts of the kids from 2004 (yeah, that's not a typo) and I finally got all our Hawaii pics developed (my camera, son's phone, my phone, husband's phone) so they will be added into the mix. Now I just have to plan my pages and pack everything up.

I need to print pics and gather supplies and make pages kits, need PL catch up, really need a few cards for upcoming birthdays... Seems like too much work lol I haven't scrapped in forever as well, but I'm not going on a retreat, I wish! I had the itching to get scrapbooking again and got feeling guilty that my youngest will be heading to preK here in a few months and I haven't really started on his baby album! (I've only scrapped a handful of layouts overall since he was born) so I started putting things away and clearing off my table. I just went head first and organized what I did have and just put in a photo order, sat down yesterday and just scrapped! So now my youngest has a couple of pages for his baby album Hopefully I'll take this feeling and run with it! Just need to carve time and dig in! Have fun at your retreat!

Lots and lots of twinchies, and a shadow box for craft swaps.
Then I need to organize some homemade page kits for a crop I'm going to in July. I want to do it now because once I'm done with the twinchies and shadow box I'm packing paper crafting up for a while and focusing on sewing. That way when it gets close to the crop I will only have to pack everything into my tote.

I have been working on a baby heritage page of my aunt. I have the baby announcement & envelope. I also have a photo of her as a baby thankfully. It was 1919. For t hose of you feeling guilty for being behind... do not add pressure to your scrapping :)It should be fun I am working on my kids toddler & young child & they are in their 30s lol I have 1000s of heritage pages & 1000s of my family pages I realized a few years ago that I could never get them all done :)That is fine I just scrap on whatever I see & want to do My kids will be so happy to have any albums when I die whether it will be 10, 50, 5 100 Don't stress.. It should be fun

I haven't actually scrapped in months due to space issues, but I'm still printing out my pics every month or two (whenever I have about 100 in the Snapfish cart, or there is a too good to miss sale).
I try to stick a post it note to the back of the pics to remind me the date and event (for when I do scrap it - hopefully this summer).
I am still selectively shopping. I buy supplies that I know I will use if they are at a can't miss price.
And I write journalling in a little notebook so I don't forget it.

And I write journalling in a little notebook so I don't forget it. I REALLY need to start doing this. It's a compulsion of mine to scrap chronologically, so I don't see that ever changing, but I often forget the details of what I'm scrapping. I do save our calendars every year & I used to keep a vacation journal, so that helps a little, but I really should journal ahead of time. Thanx for the tip! As for following up what I'm working on, I got caught up in Don Felder's book about being in the Eagles and didn't work on scrappy stuff at all yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get in there today!

I'm working on one of my Air Force albums. This is the 3rd time I have started it, but I have finally collected enough Air Force and military specific theme stuff to do it the way I want. The first time I started on white cardstock, the second time was a bunch of stars and stripes. I'm pretty pleased with it so far.

Updating my 2015 family album, Las Vegas trip album, and East Coast Road trip album. Plus the odd layout here and there that I am inspired to do.

I split mine into 2 albums - one enlisted and one officer album. I started at the beginning and went through to the end. I included certificates and leave and earnings statements, rank and ribbons, letters, whatever I've saved pretty much.
