After I spent all that time cleaning and organizing my scraproom yesterday I decided to start scrapbooking Christmas photos (almost completed 2011). I do a separate album for Christmas so thought it might be an easy way to scrap a lot of photos in a shorter amount of time. It would be really nice to cross at least one item off my scrapbooking to-do list.

I so need to start on my DH's album, just not too sure on how I want to set it up. I've got a good start on gathering pictures, and awards though, so a bonus there Have fun! I split mine into 2 albums - one enlisted and one officer album. I started at the beginning and went through to the end. I included certificates and leave and earnings statements, rank and ribbons, letters, whatever I've saved pretty much. Thanks! I know he wants when he retires to do a shadowbox of his uniform with the ribbons/medals on, but I know we have some of his older sets of ribbons in the closet, I'll need to make a list of what and when he received them. Thanks again!

I use divided sheet protectors in my family album. So I finished 5 pages yesterday! I'm almost finished with 2013, so I need to organize and plan layouts for 2014 and 2015. I'd like to work on my heritage album. I want to scrap some more category pages for my cookbook. I'm kind of ADD, I move from one thing to the next.

I'm kinda 'bitty' when it comes to scrapping or cardmaking. I like to do occasional home decor pieces too. So my desk is always covered in stuff for maybe three or four items at a time.
At the moment, I have papers picked and trimmed for a layout of my kids at a Playmobil store ten years ago; I have some paper and lace for my DD's birthday card; I have a couple of pop-up bases for a class I'm teaching next Tuesday; and I have paint from a canvas I just finished. I saw the saying on Pinterest and thought I would try it out.
But all of these have been put aside the last few days, because I'm upcycling a Welsh dresser I picked up for a song. It's gorgeous, and I'm painting it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. This is expensive paint, but worth every penny. You get a gorgeous finish, and you don't have to sand or strip the wood beforehand. It works over varnish or wax, and can be used on plastics too. I love it!
