I am a planner, especially with vacations, but part of my plan might be "go to the beach for a few hours on the way out of town." I want to eek every possible second out of my vacation before heading home!

I'm ok with planning to a degree but at the same time my Dh will plan things to death and it just seems to suck all the fun out of it sometimes. He's good at it and I *know* it can prevent problems usually but just sometimes I'd love to have no plan. It's one of those weird and unusual times which brings out the worst in me and I find myself being deliberately obtuse or argumentative because I just want to grab a few clothes, our documents and go I am like gar's DH. I am probably an over-planner and I am good at it, but I know the rest of my family does feel like it sucks all the fun out of things sometimes, so I try to keep my planning in check and sometimes just go with the flow - but it is oh so hard for me to do.

I plan my vacations if I go to another country so I don't miss anything. I also plan out my weekend errands so I don't get too sidetracked, but sometimes my back starts hurting so I end up going home. Now if I could just figure out a plan to organize the stack of papers/magazines/catalogs on my kitchen island, I would be very happy!

I'm a planner, and part of that involves knowing if the group I'm with will be leaving on time, or going to the beach.
I'm not sure who's at fault here, it seems like there are we three parties with some responsibility.
Either way your daughter has learned a valuable lesson, not that it's consolation.

I am a planner for the most part, but also like a little wiggle room if we are on vacation.

As long as I'm at the airport and through security about an and hour before my flight I'm good. I used to always pack on the same day as I travelled, even if it was ridiculously early, but DH says even the thought of it makes him ill, so now I do it the night before. I prefer just to take a carry-on, so I do have to plan in my head what I'll pack beforehand. Check out my blog to see what I've been up to

A little of both. I detail plan the travel and packing part of the trip like crazy OCD mad woman but once I'm there I'm rather go with the flow.

We are hard core vacationers. Actually we need a couple of days rest when we get back! So we plan plan plan to eek out as much as we can when we go somewhere.
