Also recommend Michael Connnelly and the Bosch series on Amazon, it's really good.

I love Michael Connelly and Harry Bosch. Read those in order.
I will try a Linwood Barclay book. I also really like thrillers.
I am posting on the reading thread, but I just finished Detour by James Siegel, which I thought was a great thriller about people who accidentally find themselves in a huge mess. Siegel also wrote Derailed, which was later made into a movie with Jennifer Anniston and Clive Owen. The movie is great; the book is better.

Thanks or the recommendation. For those of you who like Vince Flynn and Brad Thor, may I suggest Ben Coes? I've really enjoyed his books.

Thank you so much for posting this recommendation. FIL and I are always on the lookout for new authors to add to our read list. It sounds like something both of us would enjoy.

I had never read this author before, but last summer I read Never Look Away while on vacation. A good vacation/summer read. Lots of suspense, but at the same time not too challenging. I haven't read anything else by him since, but I'd think about it.

Oh, I honestly didn't mean that in a negative way at all but can see now why it came off that way. I read many different authors for different purposes, and am definitely no literary snob. That particular book was, for me, a great summer read-- when I'm looking to be more entertained. Recently I started a new novel that is more of a challenge than I would want during vacation. In fact, it's the second time I've started it, which maybe should tell me something...

I've been a big fan of Linwood Barclay and have read all his books. I first heard about him a few years ago on 2Peas when Batya use to have the reading threads. I like his books because most of the settings are with ordinary people but then the stories get riveting with all that happens to them. He hasn't written any sequels but I hear one is in the works for "The Last Goodby". This author has led an interesting life himself. I read his memoir "Last Resort" that tells about his father dying when he was 16 and he had to run the family resort.

Do you need to read them in published order? Or do they each stand on their own? These are all stand alone. No Time for Goodbye Too Close to Home Fear the Worst Never Look Away Never Saw It Coming The Accident Trust Your Eyes A Tap on the Window No Safe House Woohooo, thank you I prefer stand alone books!!

Then obviously you've never met two of my favorite characters: Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar and Winsor Horne Lockwood III (Win). "In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction—Myron Bolitar—a hotheaded, tenderhearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each page-turning appearance." They are thrillers that have some of the best comedic writing around!

Coben's stand alone books are great too!

Love him! I have read and enjoyed every book he has written. I thought we had too until I saw Trust Your Eyes at the library! DH and I have a habit of finding an author and reading through all their books before reading anything else. We did it with Harlan Coban and David Rosenfelt too. I think you recommended the Coban and Rosenfelt books on the old TwoPeas site. Because of your recommendation, I have read all of the books by both of them and really enjoyed them. I will definitely be trying the Barclay books too. Thanks so much for all three recommendations.

I did! I also can't believe I spelled Harlan's last name wrong. It's Coben for anyone googling him. Glad you liked them, they are among our favorites. Did you read Rosenfelt's book Dog Tripping about moving all his rescue dogs across the country? I would LOVE to have been on that trip! For new readers: most of his books have a golden retriever in them ~ he is HUGE in the Golden rescue program and has over 20 dogs himself.
