So I know most weren't interested, but did anyone sign up for the monthly class sub? reviews I know many at SC did but we all know I can't ask about it over there because I won't get honest reviews

I put Big Picture into the "once burned, twice shy" category Y.E.A.R.S ago --- and I am not the sort of person to let them out of the classification and since I haven't heard anything wonderful about them since or heard of a change in Stacey Julian's attitude since, there is nothing that persuades me that I was wrong.

You had a problem a long time ago? I have been a customer for years and until this whole new SC change I haven't had a problem... but I am not too happy about the current situation... I am not signing up for the new site - I was just wondering if anyone tried it and liked it. The more I think about it - why can't they just load our classes on teh new site or keep the old site running? But I guess that's really for the other thread lol

I was tempted, of course... But anyway, I heard that the forums aren't active about classes, and that's what I missed from the old BPC site. AND most of all, I was so upset by what happened with my paid classes that I promised to myself I won't give them my money. I don't look at their classes so I won't be tempted too much. I have a lot of untouched classes anyway (I confess I did buy some of BPC classes on sale on the old site! Now they are downloaded on my computer and I want to look at them), so I recently decided to go back to my untouched/unfinished classes, and the only thing I miss is the interraction with other students. Right now, I did the 6 first weeks of Hello Story, and I am finishing Here and There (I won it so I am not upset about the price for the content, and as I had it for free, I do enjoy it) because I don't download videos and I really want to watch these videos before the site go down.

I'm there. The classes are very good. I am enjoying the format of being able to "take" a class and check off my progress as I go through it. I also like that they offer so many different areas for classes... cards, photography, PL, scrapbooking, DIY, mixed media/art journalling, etc.

I did. I signed up for the free trial & then of course forgot to cancel & paid the next month. I signed up using paypal, which automatically created a recurring payment in Paypal's system. All I did to cancel was to go into paypal & cancel that recurring payment. I didn't contact Big Picture at all. Of course I got a couple of emails from them warning me payment did not go through & I should look into it. Eventually I got an email saying my membership was cancelled. Give it a go, you have nothing to lose. I was a big fan, but for me, there is no content in there worth paying for. I signed up to Ali's email list & May Flaum's & that's plenty for me.

What did you think of this layout class? Give me a reason to buy it I love Jen's classes as well, so taking a chance on how things are set up was okay with me since it was her instructing the class Not sure if all classes are the same, but she teaches 7 lessons (videos that are 15 min+ long), with a pdf of complete supply list and 7 sketches. In the lessons she completes one page and shows another page of that sketch/lesson at the end. If you've seen her videos or taken classes from her before, they are true to her and plus this brings me back to her 2peas Stretch Your Sketch class! I just completed my first page in years, thanks to her class! There are conversations/questions on each video on the side, and you can take notes for yourself and if you leave the video it saves your spot...it also has a 30 second repeat if you are working while watching. Right now there isn't many participating in uploading of pages, but there are more asking questions and talking:) I had seen a new one by Paige Evans with working with the Silhouette that I might take as well...just never heard of her before. I know that several people didn't sign up for the free trial for this reason alone.

I've written off Big Picture Classes because of the subscription aspect and the fact that with Studio Calico in the drivers seat, I get constant garbled, spam-type messages from them. I had already signed up for Cathy Zielske's "Me: the Abridged Version" when announcement was made that SC bought BPC. Their involvement with the site caused me to not be able to use the class message boards until almost the end of the class - I would not get notifications I signed up for and I was told I had to resolve this with my ISP. It did finally get it resolved. But since then, emails I've received--presumably telling me about past class purchases and videos and how to access them--have been gobbledy-gook. Repeated emails to customer service have been ignored. I consider SC "high maintenance" and steer clear nowadays.
