This seems like such an easy command, and yet nothing I try is working. I want to fill only the top part of this journaling card (around the text) with a solid color to print and cut. I've checked that the horizontal line intersects the outline of the card. The horizontal line has a thickness. I'm not sure what else to try? Thanks in advance for any help! Attachments:

I think the part you want to fill has to be a single, unified shape; just adding the horizontal bar to the card outline doesn't make the top portion it's own shape. You could try tracing the top portion of the card (including the outline and horizontal line), and then taking that resulting shape and filling it. Then layer it behind the text.
Hth!
