We will be heading to Paris from Munich to complete our vacation. We want to see the Paris sites and also want to spend 1-2 days at Disneyland Paris. I can't figure out, looking at maps, where we should stay. A friend of my daughters said that there's an Ibis hotel near the #12 train line that is budget friendly. He said that it's an easy train ride to #15 which he said Disney was at but also quick to ride to see the Paris sites. I don't know if he's right or wrong. Can anyone help me find a good location and also if you know any budget hotels I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

You should look into the Disney partner hotels. They have free shuttles to Disney and many are located next to a train station that could take you into the city.

Are you interested in staying IN Paris? If so, I have a great hotel recommendation. It's fairly reasonable and in a great location for Paris sites, as it's walking distance to the Louvre, Champs Elysees, and right next to a Metro (Madeleine).
It's also walkable across the Seine from Invalides, where you can catch the RER A to Disneyland Paris.
The name of the hotel is Hotel La Sanguine. It is small, not terribly fancy, but the owners are fabulous. I've stayed there three times.
Edited to add: This hotel is right on line 12 (Madeleine), as referenced by GypsyGirl.

You are right. My issue is that I don't know the slightest thing about what's in Paris other than the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland. This is the last part of the trip (Amsterdam and Munich then on to Paris). We're celebrating our son's wedding with the rest of the family but after Munich, we're all branching off and going in different directions. Going to Disneyland is on my daughter's bucket list. We have 4-5 days left so we said "why not"? She works for Disney so we get in for free. Is there an area in Paris that is somewhat close to major sight seeing attractions. I would rather stay closer to those areas than to Disneyland. We don't want to spend more than $100 per night either (3 adults). We don't need a great hotel... as long as it's in a safe area, clean and a comfortable bed.

SOCKMONKEY It sounds great and has great reviews. I'm checking availability and prices. Thanks for the info
Do you know about how long it would take by train to get to Disneyland from there. I was on Google maps and it couldn't give me a time for train but said 55 min for bus.

SOCKMONKEY... can I ask how you made your reservations? Their website is in French. I then went to Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline etc and they don't list it. Trip Advisor had where you could click for prices but a blurb came up stating:
We can't find prices for this hotel Our online travel partners don't provide prices for this hotel, but we can search other options in Paris

We stayed at the Duminy Vendome five years ago on our honeymoon. The room was small, but it was very clean. It was within walking distance to the Louvre and the Metro. The breakfast is fantastic, too. We were quite happy here.

Thank you. I have checked that one out already because it is a great location however it is way more than what we can afford. I had posted this above

Did you mean a room for 3 that is $100 per night? That might not be possible in the tourist atea of Paris. Twenty years ago that is about what we paid for room for 2 in the Esmeralda.

I think you are going to have trouble finding a room for 3 inside of Paris for $100. Think of it this way--you wouldn't expect to find a hotel room in NYC or Washington DC for $100. I'm sure they exist, but I would fear that they would be rather downtrodden at best.
We stayed at Hotel de France Invalides. It was kitty corner across the street from the Invalides and we had a gorgeous view of the dome. It's walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and only 2 blocks from the Metro station. It was clean and the breakfast was really good. They even served us breakfast early on the day we met up with a tour group to tour the castles in the Tours area. The decor was rather kitchy, but quaint. And the staff was really, really friendly and accommodating. We had two double rooms, but they may have a triple. But it wasn't under $100.

When are you going? We will be in Amsterdam, Paris and Disneyland Paris the first two weeks of July. For the DLP portion we are staying at a DLP hotel (Hotel NY) in Paris we have an Airbnb rental.

I would also spend a bit of time deciding what sites in Paris are most appealing to you. Think of Invalides (as mentioned), Tulieries, Sacre Coeur/Montmartre, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Sainte Chapelle, Pere Lachaise, Pont des Arts bridge, etc etc etc. Do you want to see architecture or museums or gardens or flea markets a bit of each? Take a boat tour or a bike tour if you want to see more, take a walk if you want to experience the city. The Metro will get you most anywhere in the city, but a bit of planning and deciding which sites are most appealing to you can ensure your time is well-spent. Make reservations to things like the Eiffel tower if you plan to go up, for example, and that will be a huge time saver. I am no expert, but Paris to me is a walking city and meant to be explored.

France is an expensive place. We live in North East Spain and went over the boarder this weekend. Coffee was 3,60 euros, beer 5 euros and a plate of pasta 10 euros! At least you don't have to tip! We've been to Disney Paris a few times and it doesn't compare with Florida. Paris itself is a wonderful full city and small enough to walk around. Spend some time on Trip advisor for places to visit....and make sure you know a few basic words of french

We will be there the 3rd week!!! How funny. I was going to check out Airnb next. My son got a great place in Amsterdam for 10 of us to share from Airnb. He said he uses it all the time.
You have been so helpful. My daughter gave me some links to recommended hotels by her friends that she works with. They have stayed that the ones that they recommended. They are all under 100 for a triple... most in the $50-$75 range but one thing hit my while viewing photos... the bathrooms/showers are all (at least what I saw in the photos) IN the room, near the beds and have clear glass doors. I don't mind showering in front of my husband but I don't think my daughter would be happy with that and especially to see her father shower! We're just not open that way! I will check out all of the places that you have recommended. My other son recommended hostels. The youth ones were affordable while the adult ones were more expensive that the hotels. I will keep an open mind while checking them out. Thank you so much. Time to get ready for work. Thank you ALL for your thoughts!!!!

Great hotel recommendations here! I'm not the OP but thanks everyone. I'm planning a trip in a few months and this gives me a good place to start.

We stayed at Hotel Saint Paul, right on the border of the 5th/6th arr. We also stayed at Hotel Lotti, I think in the 1st arr. While we preferred Hotel Lotti, we much preferred the location of Saint Paul, due to the proximity of cafés/shops and what felt more like everyday Paris life. Hotel Lotti was convenient for getting to museums and things like that.
Our favorite areas of Paris are St. Germain and Le Marais.
