Need to replace the fridge and have decided on a 25-27 cubic ft French door style. Been reading lots of reviews online and have been to all the big box stores to check them out. Appreciate any input on what you like (or do not like) and help me figure it out.
Thanks in advance!

I could not possibly love a fridge more than I love my French-door fridge. We have one big drawer on the bottom, with a slide out rack and that works fine for us. A couple of friends have the two drawers, but I'm sure they would both be opened all the time in our house as people tried to remember what was in each drawer.
We also have an ice/water dispenser on the door. We get drips on the door that need to be wiped constantly but I still prefer it on the outside than having to go into the fridge for water.

@br2ca -- what brand is your fridge? I have been scouring over reviews and am slightly concerned when I keep reading that so many of them make loud noises. So I am trying to make the best choice.

Mine is several years old. Reviews at that time said to avoid water/ice in door because there were problems with it.... Don't know if that's still true.
But I love the style and find it very convenient!!

I have a Samsung with the extra drawer for my pop addiction. The reviews said the ice maker was too small but not for me.

We have a GE Profile, but I didn't shop brands because DH has access to a contractors discount through GE. We have never had a noise problem. Very rarely does the ice jam as it is dropping and we can hear a clicking, but it is easy to open up basket and free the trapped ice.

Thanks TXMary - glad to hear another positive report. We are looking at Samsung with ice/water in the door. I liked the design and it seems like the ice maker didn't take up way too much space.

We have a Kenmore. We don't have an ice maker because we don't have a water line to hook it up to. The thing I don't like, and this is for a lot of fridges is that when you adjust the shelf to hold a tall thing like a 2 liter of soda, then there ends up being one shelf that is so close to the next shelf up that nothing fits on it.
Also the shelves that pull out, supposedly to make it easy to get things out, I don't like because it just means stuff falls off the back of the shelf.
Otherwise it runs great (knock on wood) and I like the door dingy thing for when my kids forget to shut the door/are sneaking into the fridge.

We just bought a Samsung 4 door french door fridge with water in the door. We really like it, my favorite option is that you can change it to have half of the fridge be freezer, or change it to only 1/4th freezer and more space for fresh food. We have a freezer in the garage, so this is perfect for us!

KitchenAid. It is a POS and should have been replaced by the company. They are better now, though.

Have had this one for 2 years and absolutely love it. the middle drawer is sooo useful. Everything for sandwich, lunch, breakfast (except milk) in the drawer. the ice maker in the refrigerator door has worked perfectly. Great design for refrigerator/freezer. Also like the separate rack in the freezer. really recommend this model.

We have a ken more. Six years old and like it fine. Think I just might get an old style freezer top model next though. It is like a temple to keeping things cold. And not a huge fan of the freezer. It is okay but if we did not have a separate freezer it would be tough for us.

I went from a french door to a side-by-side 8 years ago and I'm anxiously waiting for the damn thing to break so I can go back.
