I want to make some necklaces for kids out of decorator buttons (think Dress it Up/ Jesse James type with the shanks on the back). The shank is in the middle of the button, so I can't just thread the necklace/ribbon through it because it will hang face down. I have the tool to cut off the shanks. I also have a bunch of the clear Ranger Tim Holtz Fragment pieces with the holes in the top that I could put a jump ring or split ring through. I'm thinking the easiest way to do it is to glue the button piece onto the fragment with a strong, clear glue. My question is, would Glossy Accents work as a suitable adhesive for this that will hold the buttons on permanently? I know people use it for gluing stuff onto the acrylic albums because I've done that, and hope it will work for this too since I already have it. I don't want them to fall apart, and I don't want to experiment and ruin one of the buttons since they only come four to a pack and I need them all! Any help would be greatly appreciated since I need to get these made this week. THANKS! UPDATE: Just in case anyone was interested, the test button I glued onto the TH fragment with Glossy Accents worked GREAT. It looks like it will stay securely attached, dried completely clear and I could see doing that again in the future for something or other. It just didn't happen to work out this time because the buttons I'm using are big and an odd shape, so they didn't match up well with any of the sizes or shapes of the fragments I had to glue them to.

I would think e6000 would be a better idea.

Thanks, I am trying to avoid using E-6000 specifically because the smell gives me a wicked headache and I'm not sure it will totally dissipate before I have to give them away. I already have the Glossy Accents and would rather not have to buy something else if it will work. Maybe I'll just have to experiment with a different button and see if it looks good and stays on.

The Glossy Accents might work if the buttons aren't too heavy, but in would probably use my glue gun on something like this.

I would totally use Glossy Accents for this type of project. It wouldn't hurt to experiment with some other button if you can, but I honestly don't think you would have any problems.

Thanks for the replies everyone!
They are princess buttons with three layers. I ended up cutting the shanks off and gluing the layers of the buttons together with some super glue gel that I also had on hand. I put a jump ring through the top part of the crown and skipped gluing them onto the fragments entirely because they were kind of the wrong size and looked a little awkward. I did experiment with a different but similar button, the Glossy Accents and one of the fragments to see if it would work even though I bailed on doing it that way for this project.
